Ever wake up in the morning feeling overwhelmed and wanting to just go back to sleep? You might be facing daunting financial issues. Or marital/family problems. Or conflicts at work. Or physical illness. Or…
Life has a way of throwing any number of troubles and struggles in the path of even the godliest of men. It often fulfills this promise from Jesus (which, if we were completely honest with ourselves, we wish He hadn’t made): “In this world you will have trouble” (John 16:33).
On those mornings when you feel like staying in bed, pull yourself up, get on your feet, and take heart. God is still bigger than any of your troubles. And He has promised never to let you face them alone but always to give you all the strength you need.
Prayer: Lord God, thank You that I don’t have to face my troubles and struggles alone and that I don’t have to allow fear to rule my life. Instead, I can live in peace and confidence knowing that You have promised to be with me, strengthen me, and hold me in Your right hand.
