Strength

My Lord I pray to you for strength,
To see me through the days to come,
My faith has been tested in days passed,
Yet I haven't faltered from your path.

Your guiding light leads me forward,
Temptation I pass by not needing it at all,
Bad thoughts cross my mind at times,
Then I think of my God above loving me.

I am not perfect my dear God,
My faults are many yet I try,
I walk to the beautiful light above,
Where, one day, I shall meet St. Peter.

It is too soon for me to enter heaven,
Much work I have to do on earth first,
One day St. Peter will question me,
For I must serve my time here first.

I work towards answering him correctly,
To go to paradise above with God,
For life eternal is mine one day,
When the time is right and I'm repentent.

Lift Me Up

Lift Me High
My heart hurts so very deeply,
What have I done to deserve this?
I ache inside so very much,
Why me? I ask of You.

At times I wonder why I am tested,
Who gains from my sadness?
I do not understand so why?
One day You will make me understand.

Lift me up to a higher level,
That I may understand my Lord,
You are my saving grace,
My dear Lord you are gracious.

You have never failed me yet,
Through times of darkness,
And I was lost, searching,
The light was always to be found.

My wilderness was from within,
Spiritual wandering was my life,
I didn't understand Your plan,
Nor that that I would know in Your time.

Lift me up dear Lord,
I am ready to listen to You,
My pain is part of my learning,
To understand my future life.

Lift me up to Your standard,
Lift me up beyond despair,
Lift me up to be a better person,
Lift me up to worship You.
