Stupid things to say

We are athiest (internet site)

- All revelation proves, on investigation, to be human, and generally fraudulent.

These athiests make statements that I find difficult to understand.

Let us break down the statement. Firstly "revelation", this means knowing something that was previously unknown.

Next, "investigation", inquiry using the rational mind.

Finally, "fraudulent", simply not true.

It is impossible to investigate whether a Biblical revelation is true or false. No matter who you are, there is no way to discover whether in fact they are true or false.

Lets use an example from the Old Testament.

Exodus 3:14 (New American Standard Bible)

"God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM" and He said, "Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.'"

Tell me dear athiest, how you would investigate this revelation. I am not aware just how you would conduct your investigation. How can an athiest travel back in time, stand next to Moses. Listen to God speaking to Moses. Then decide that this is fraudulent. This is the only real way of investigating this revelation. There is no other way to seriously test this revelation.

You also used the words "proves, on investigation" in your statement.

Since an athiest cannot travel back to this event. How do you prove anything about the revelation, that you are unable to investigate.

Seriously, an athiest cannot make this statement. It is an invalid statement.

So how, by what system of rational thought process. Did you arrive at this assertion.

That this revelation is fraudulent. In fact, the only conclusion is that an athiest must confess total ignorance.

It is an extremely wild statement to make. It has no evidence, no methadology, no tools, to support this statement.

There is only one option available to an athiest, unbelief. Simple and true.

Athiesm at its core is a determined non-belief in God.

A wise man if asked whether God exists, would reply "I have not recieved that revelation or I have recieved that revelation".

Ask Moses whether God spoke to him?

John 1:5
The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. (NASB)

This is revelation, this explains why athiests offer up these stupid statements.

Athiests are still debating what they actually believe. To date they have not come to an agreement.

1CO 1:18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written:

"I will destroy the wisdom of the wise;
the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate."

1CO 1:20 Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21 For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. 22 Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom, 23 but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, 24 but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength.

Atheists and their man made theories are nothing but loopholes of man's foolish wisdom.

For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength.

I love this quote! It truly puts into perspective God's great power... and yet we still cannot comprehend it.

I just have a comment though. Looking back through history it is evident the way the presence and authority of the church has evolved, as well as the authority of God (as viewed by humans). And as the world keeps turning we keep falling further and further away.... which I think provides evidence for the near second coming. Anyway, I think it is interesting that centuries ago the wisdom of the world and all the great scientists and philosophers depended on God and His word. But today the "wisdom" of the world, through science and philosophy, all are estranged from our heavenly Father. Quite unfortunate.

But at least we have the truth!

We must remember, however, that there never has been and never will be a time when God has not been in full control of things. He is always Lord of Lords and King of Kings.

Well God is certainly not in full control of things on earth, that's for sure. We'll one day see God in full control on earth during the Millenial rule of Christ. But as it stands, man is in control and has been since God gave the reigns to Adam.

Yes Yes!! This is so true. And this is what always puts hope back in my heart whenever I begin to feel sad about this world

The story of Job disagrees with you, Robster. In Job, Satan wreaked great damage, but God was still in control.

Thanks SpiritLed

Yes, God is in control of everything.

Satan controls mankind.

Man controls nothing. Man does not understand the battle raging.

Christians wage war against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Baa, baa.

If God was in control of everything on earth, there would be no rape, no murder no poverty, etc. Or do you think that these kind of awful things are happening in Heaven right now? Go to Heaven if you want to see the way things are when God's in control. Or are you going to argue that God is controlling people to go out and do these horrible acts? God is currently not in control of this planet, we are. We will see Him in control on this planet during that 1000 year reign of Christ on earth. But please let's stop saying "God is in control of everything on this planet" like its a scripture. If God was in control during Job's day, the devil would not have been able to lift a finger against Job. The beauty of the book of Job is that we get a clear picture of who the real villain is and how God will restore everything that the enemy has stolen from you if you are patient and keep believing God for your restoration! There are greater truths in that book but if you believe God is in control of everything on this planet then you are crediting Him with all kinds of evil acts. If God was in control the devil wouldn't be able to harm a flea on this planet. God is not telling p[eople to go rape women for some mysterious purpose. And when you declare that He is in control of everything on earth, you are suggesting that He is responsible for that. God controls some things on this planet right now, not everything. I mean if He controlled everything on this planet right now every Christian would be tithing, reading their Bible every day, going to church, etc. like they are supposed to for their benefit.

There's only two ways God could not have full control always: 1)He "dropped the ball" or 2) Someone wrestled it away from Him. If #1 is true, when did He make the mistake? Where is it reported in Scripture? If #2 is true, who wrestled control away from Him? If either of these is true, God can't be perfect.

Seems like in you view God as a bossy, whip-cracking, domineering God, not the loving God I know.
