These athiests make statements that I find difficult to understand.
Let us break down the statement. Firstly "revelation", this means knowing something that was previously unknown.
Next, "investigation", inquiry using the rational mind.
Finally, "fraudulent", simply not true.
It is impossible to investigate whether a Biblical revelation is true or false. No matter who you are, there is no way to discover whether in fact they are true or false.
Lets use an example from the Old Testament.
Exodus 3:14 (New American Standard Bible)
"God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM" and He said, "Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.'"
Tell me dear athiest, how you would investigate this revelation. I am not aware just how you would conduct your investigation. How can an athiest travel back in time, stand next to Moses. Listen to God speaking to Moses. Then decide that this is fraudulent. This is the only real way of investigating this revelation. There is no other way to seriously test this revelation.
You also used the words "proves, on investigation" in your statement.
Since an athiest cannot travel back to this event. How do you prove anything about the revelation, that you are unable to investigate.
Seriously, an athiest cannot make this statement. It is an invalid statement.
So how, by what system of rational thought process. Did you arrive at this assertion.
That this revelation is fraudulent. In fact, the only conclusion is that an athiest must confess total ignorance.
It is an extremely wild statement to make. It has no evidence, no methadology, no tools, to support this statement.
There is only one option available to an athiest, unbelief. Simple and true.
Athiesm at its core is a determined non-belief in God.
A wise man if asked whether God exists, would reply "I have not recieved that revelation or I have recieved that revelation".
Ask Moses whether God spoke to him?
