No one wants to do it.
However, it is through our suffering, we CRY OUT Abba Father; our suffering brings us in obedience to God. When we suffer, we seek Him; when we have all that we need, who needs God? we have all that we need.

Are you still suffering for self? or for His names sake? We get ourselves into trouble because we take our attention off God and focus on the lust of the flesh and the pride of life. Who do you suffer? Have you ever put self second and allow God to be first? Do you have a clue what it is to suffer for HIS NAMES SAKE?
What is consuming your heart?
All praise, glory and honor be unto God. Amen

What kind of suffering are you referring to? A broken finger? Persecution from other people? A job you may dislike? Or a harsh climate?

I believe I made it quite clear...
Are you still suffering for self? or for His names sake?

My point is....a broken finger means you are suffering for a broken finger...If people are persecuting you because you love Jesus, and have no problem saying so, then you are suffering for Jesus. I'm not trying to be obnoxious here. Just a point of fact Suffering for Jesus means you are getting flack for living in obedience to the Word and you keep going with good attitude and you are walking in Love

Naturally none of us would welcome any kind of suffering, especially if suffering itself is the goal, or is the reward of being vexed, parted from any comfort, troubled on a regular basis while doing no wrong.

The hope of Christians involves accepting righteous suffering for many who are persecuted because of our faith in Christ. While far from pleasant, we have such a wonderful promise from the Lord as reward for staying strong, not avoiding the hard parts of our life in Christ.

I take 2 Thess 1 as our charter passage, encouraging all who suffer for righteousness, not for misdeeds. Our suffering ought not be focused on physical pain of injury from our abuse of our own flesh, but entirely for the name of Jesus. However, once pursuing the gospel and its attendant persecutions of many kinds, whatever physical suffering we endure from any cause, are more far more tolerable than when suffering for unjust reasons alone.
