Supreme Court's conservatives lean towards limiting abortion rights after dramatic oral arguments on Mississippi law banning abortions after 15 weeks

The Supreme Court seemed poised Wednesday to uphold a Mississippi law that bars abortion after 15 weeks, but it is less clear if there is a clear majority to end the right to abortion nationwide, although conservative justices expressed skepticism about the landmark Roe v. Wade decision.

Before this case came up I was praying for such a case to come before the Supreme Court.

Apparently the issue, and PRIMARY CONCERN for the Supreme court is that if they trash Roe-Wade - with a majority of REPUBLICAN APPOINTEES, they'll be demonstrating that they're not "Independant Constitutional Justices" at all, but just another bunch of partisan political hacks.

Of course we all knew that's all they've ever been anyway. But it does look bad for RvW at present.

All it'll do, of course, is make abortion less "Convenient" since parents who want to murder their unwanted kids for convenience sake, will find a way to "Get 'er done" regardless of the law.

That is true, some people will find a way regardless, however the law impacts funding and access and when things are less convenient, generally speaking,

Now do not get me wrong i have nothing against "Calvinist" or "Methodist" but i know both teachings And I know the History of both completely . Years of studying both. I am very familiar with "George, John, Charles" and the "Organization". and my mother grew up as a "methodist" and i have preach at Methodist Church. and was sought after to teach at a "Methodist" Church as well, Married by a Methodist Pastor. just curious. And some times after the Thugs would beat up the "Evangelist" after about 3 to 4 days straight and the evangelist would keep coming back bleeding, And the thugs would repent and tell why they was beating them, some pastor paid them, And the thugs would get down on their knees and confess and get saved and get Filled with the "HOLY GHOST".

They even enacted a "2 mile Law" in order to preach, a Evangelist had to preach 2 miles from city in country and hundreds and sometimes up to 2,000 people from all around would come,,,, in mud and horse back walking. in the rain. they would "PREACH'!

And that John COLET in London, his daddy was the major, And his daddy had friends that was "gangsters'! And COLET would preach and would not hold back and those "GANGSTERS" told the people you better not touch him, you better let him preach, We don't care how mad y'all get at him. Over 2,000 would come and hear him preach. And a lot didn't like what he was preaching. He brought up their sins and they didn't like it, But they was afraid of those GANGSTERS. I'm not sure which point of my statement you were responding to when you spoke in rebuttal to a position about "Preaching Love".
You may have misunderstood my perspective.

I'm not in the category of those who speak about only preaching love. So I believe that you are possibly addressing a position you believe I hold that I don't.

Do I love people and want them to be saved, therefore I said " I pray that as many as have been called will repent so that they will not be part of the wrath of God. "
Most definitely, I love people, but that does not mean I only preach love or shy away from talking about hell or the judgment of God.

I agree with you as you stated "laws of MAN do not stop women from Killing BABIES, The FEAR of GOD DOES"
However that does not mean that we shouldn't be active in shaping the laws. What it means for me
is that we shouldn't put our faith or trust in the laws.

One could say that "the laws of men don't stop people from stealing but the fear of God does",
however you can see how misguided it would be for one to follow that line of thinking to therefore
not advocate for any laws against stealing because it has to do with the fear of God.

We should understand that government has a place. God set up government for order and protection.
However God does not use the government as the primary means by which salvation comes to His people;
yet that does not mean that we should not participate in government or vote our conscience.

It just means that we don't put our faith in government as our savior.

You said much @PloughBoy and I'm with you in the Old Paths, I'm definitely not part of the "New Way" which is deviated from the word of God.
Or at least that is not the plan.

I certainly am here to learn which is why I like listening to various perspectives here on TJ and holding it up to the WORD of God and seeing how
it measure up.

Methodist are big on education and holiness and we are also big on missions. Serving others.
I grew up in an African Methodist church where my father preached in Liberia, and when we moved
to the USA, I was also in a church where my father was the pastor for 10 years (I served in music).

Later marriage took me to a Baptist like (non denominational church) Huber Memorial in Baltimore Md, where I was a member for 5 years, also served on the music ministry.
Next my family move led me to the church I'm at now a White Methodist church where I serve on the music ministry and
as a lay servant.

In terms of worship
So I've attended various churches from Huber in Baltimore

to where I'm at now, Saint Marks in Easton MD

In terms of Christian education
I'm also a student (not graduate) of Baltimore School of the Bible (non Denominational )

Summary
So in summary my church worship and sermon experience and Christian education is a mixture of both Methodist and nondenominational,
although more of it has been Methodist. I've also been a member of both a White church and a Black church, meaning predominant attendance of members.

Obviously when we get into heaven I know it won't be my Methodist card which gets me in but my faith in Jesus.
Therefore I value the teachings of the Methodist church and that is my foundation, but I'm not fully dogmatic in the sense
that I think the Methodist way is the only way or that I'm unable to learn. I know that Jesus is the ONLY WAY, however I'm sure
that if Jesus was here he would focus less on denominations. However we do need common teachings and I think tradition is very important.

In the Methodist church we practice the Quadrilateral, which bases our beliefs on :

Tradition,
Reason,
Experience.

Scripture

Experience
Apart from scripture, experience is the strongest proof of Christianity. "What the scriptures promise, I enjoy".[10] Again, Wesley insisted that we cannot have reasonable assurance of something unless we have experienced it personally. John Wesley was assured of both justification and sanctification because he had experienced them in his own life. What Christianity promised (considered as a doctrine) was accomplished in his soul. Furthermore, Christianity (considered as an inward principle) is the completion of all those promises. Although traditional proof is complex, experience is simple: "One thing I know; I was blind, but now I see." Although tradition establishes the evidence a long way off, experience makes it present to all persons. As for the proof of justification and sanctification Wesley states that Christianity is an experience of holiness and happiness, the image of God impressed on a created spirit, a fountain of peace and love springing up into everlasting life.

But as I said, although I have mostly Methodist education and find it to be sound doctrine, I'm fully aware that not only Methodist
will be in Heaven, so it humbles me to not be blinded thinking that Methodism is the only way. Jesus is the Only Way.
