How sweet are Your words to my taste, [Sweeter] than honey to my mouth! Psalm 119:103
While excavating ancient Egyptian tombs, archaeologists often find pots of honey. Remove the seal and the golden honey looks brand new. Dip in a spoon and it tastes absolutely fresh. And it is. The Smithsonian says sealed pure honey has an "eternal shelf-life."
So, it's apropos that scripture compares God's words to honey: pure, sealed, desirable, and absolutely fresh despite the millennia.
The Bible also tells us:
Prayer: Lord, I know You, I read the Bible, and I desire to taste more of Your sweeter-than-honey Word. Always keep me hungry for more.

- - God's Word is to be desired more than anything else you could delight in (Psalm 19:10).
- - Besides the immediate joy of studying God's Word, there are lasting and eternal benefits (Proverbs 24:13-14).
- - A personal relationship with God is prerequisite before digesting His Word (Jeremiah 15:16).
- - God's Word is to be digested, not just observed or read. It is to fill your life (Ezekiel 2:8:3:3).
- - God's Word always tastes sweeter than honey yet words of judgment can turn one's stomach sour (Revelation 10:8-11).
- - You don't want to settle for less than God's words (Psalm 119:103).
