Dear Members,

Talk Jesus turns 15 years old on February 9th!

I started this site technically in early 2003, a year after I became a born-again Christian. There was a database loss in early 2004 when I was with another web hosting provider at the time. This upset me enough to start my own web hosting company which I'm also celebrating 15 years this month too. Talk Jesus officially relaunched anew on February 9th, 2004 and we've been going strong since then. A special thank you to the [USERGROUP=4]@Moderating[/USERGROUP] team that helps keep this community friendly and edifying.

We have nearly 11,000 members as I type. Technically, this would be over 25,000 by now but over the years I've pruned inactive accounts that never posted. We get over 25,000 visitors a month from around the world. Your support and prayer for this site is needed and appreciated.

I hope you're enjoying the community as a whole, the design and being continually encouraged each time you come here. Please share it with friends at church, social media, family members if you'd like.

Thank you Chad for creating a site for those of us growing in our Christ walk to discuss our concerns and thoughts. I have been enlightened by the conversations that I have had and I pray that this site continues to be a source of refreshing biblical teachings. God bless you.

Congratulations

Something drew me back here after an extended absence, and now I now what it was - your 15th anniversary! Happy anniversary! As a side note, I started my forum, Christian's Corner, the same year in 2003, but only made it to 2008. Your longevity is a testament to the love of Christ being shared here.

Hey @Chad. I wonder what would happen if the site's Bible preference is the 1900 KJV rather than the modern version you are using here? I mean, the site's preference is not advertised, and so if somehow you switching it to the KJV suddenly brings in more members ….. you might begin to wonder if that may be what God prefers Talk Jesus to go by in proving and reproving by Him? It does make me wonder, but if you don't try it out for a month, you might never know.

I'm sorry but how would switching to KJV bring in more members? Can you please explain?

It's like this: Maybe God is not bringing people into the forums as much any more because nothing is reproved when those in false teachings can go to another Bible version, and so if you make the KJV the one to go to at this site, maybe then God can minister so as to bring those who would hear Him to come to Talk Jesus. As it is, I see this excuse not to rely on one Bible versions but many is just sowing doubts in God's words for why every discussion is at an impasse. Have you not noticed that? Anyway, pray about it. As it is, I can see the impasse when every forum is the same about using many Bible versions to find the truth rather than relying on Jesus Christ for wisdom in reading the KJV 1900 to find the truth in His words.

Good afternoon JesusIs4Me, sorry I am late with my thoughts on this matter but I was away on vacation to celebrate my daughter's birthday. I too am wondering how different bible versions will bring more people. I have an NIV bible which I frequently use, I find while the translations may differ the overall meaning remains the same. What strikes me the most is how interpretations vary. I find it refreshing to get people's varying takes on what God is saying to His people, but I believe the ultimate goal is for His people to be the Light to the world where darkness seems to prevail. That only happens as we grow in knowledge of His word through whatever version suits your needs.

Please explain something, how do you know or why do you assume God is not bringing people into the forums "as much any more"? Where do you pull that assumption?

There's over 10,000 members here, all from around the world. Different backgrounds, cultures, languages, levels of spiritual maturity, etc. There's no way I can nor will force everyone to use a specific bible translation, especially old English style KJV.

My favorite preachers like Charles Stanley, David Jeremiah and others preach from NLT or NIV. They preach the truth always. The Holy Spirit is the one that ultimately gives each individual interpretation.

It has been my observation those in error when confronted with a verse that corrects them will jump to other Bible versions that will change that verse to support their error. I find all discussions at an impasse because of using multiple Bible versions practice to get to the truth when it has been used more often than not to not reprove anything at all.
