I dont know if all of you consider talk Jesus, this site, as a church, but that's what it is. We are all brothers and sisters in Christ. If this isn't like a church you want to go to, dont bother comming here. I really love this place and I came so much closer to God here and I want all the same for you all. If you're not interested in growing closer to God or helping your brothers and sisters grow, just go and leave us alone. Remember this IS a CHURCH of God. oh dear right yes this 'church' but some people need some more greek, the word translated to church could also (better?) be translated assembly so any group of Christians is a 'local' church and part of the church universal.

hanging out with your christian mates at Mac's is church, playing sport with acouple of other guys who belive is church. Get it out of the buildings and into your lives.

There is another implication, the church as a whole stands 'spiritually' assembled before God, freaks me out everytime I have done something selfish to think that in reality I am infront of God and all the other belivers over all time.

Thank you for making this public. Tanya kindly pm'd me to ask me exactly what Talk Jesus is, I told her a church. Think about this. This is GOD's online church, worldwide, massively powerful and all for GOD's Glory! But wait there's more! (sorry, had to use that funny and annoying popular informercial line lol). GOD in return BLESSES us with HIS awesome kingdom! He answers our prayers, protects us, loves us, forgives us, gives us what we ask for so long as it is acceptable to Him, He disciplines us out of His love, He nurtures the young ones as they grow up and He gave us JESUS CHRIST!!!

I guess it just depends on ones definition of what church is. I see believers themselves in a right relationship with Jesus Christ making up the Church, not some system, building, website or forum.
1Peter 2:4-8
4*Come to Christ, who is the living cornerstone of God’s temple. He was rejected by the people, but he is precious to God who chose him.
5*And now God is building you, as living stones, into his spiritual temple. What’s more, you are God’s holy priests, who offer the spiritual sacrifices that please him because of Jesus Christ. 6*As the Scriptures express it,

and anyone who believes in him
will never be disappointed.* ”

hey guys, thanks for posting your comments. See most people view church as a building, but that's not it at all. and that's why most people hate going to "church" cuz of all the many rules they give you, and it basically comes down to the building. But like someone mentions, just getting a friend or a couple friends and talking God is a church. We that people are the church not the building. the building is just the house of God. TalkJesus is a very good website forum. But in and by it's self it is no more a(the) Church than the Golden Corral is. TalkJesus website will not go to heaven but the Church will.
Please don't make a mistake here and build up TalkJesus.

Jiggyfly . I agree with you in all you said about the church as a people rather then a website , or building , ect ... . But what I think Tanya is saying is we as a body coming together at talkjesus , need to be mindfull to be good stewards over all that God has intrusted to us .

Just like you shouldn't spit on the floor of the house [ building , home , or even backyard ] of the place of gathering together to welcome the Holy Spirit, in reverence and communion . We should also treat TalkJesus , not as our God , but our upper room , and our sanctified place of gathering to meet with the Holy Spirit in reverence , and humility unto our Saviour .

But I do disagree with you on this part brother.

I don't think that because we meet somewhere together that that place becomes sanctified or Holy. God has poured out His Spirit on sons and daughters not man made structures.

I think what BIA is saying is that in respect for that gathering of the "church" which safely and clearly we can assume the Holy Spirit is there also, you do not spit on the floor, etc. Its a gesture of respect and holiness (anyway personally hate when people spit like pigs on the floor anywhere in public lol)

Talk Jesus is in fact an online church, a group/assembly of believers that gather for fellowship with GOD. It is not meant to be a replacement of your local church but an extra, an online gathering when you are home or by a computer and wish to fellowship with believers. Its an awesome gift from GOD. Anyone who denies that certainly not appreciative of GOD's gifts and His infinite ways.

This because of what man has done with "it" We find in the old testament, God dwelling within the four walls of a special place of His design in a tabernacle, but He desired to be so much closer to us than that, so He said I will come abide in a special place (agian of His own design) within your hearts. It did`nt take mankind very long to drift away from this awesome design, to begin once again to try to put God back inside of four walls. (of their own design) Of course you all know this, bear with me lol.
History tells us man can`t seem to handle not being able to have something to look at, to idolize, to revere, something to represent God in our finite minds. Man connects the Spiritual to the tangible, but there is no connection! Moses no sooner put the Bronze snake on a pole per Gods instructions, and the Israelites began to worship it, and we are told this made God very angry, and He had it smashed to bits!
I said all that to say this, I am respectful to anything that belongs to another, but I revere nothing, wether it be building, temple, statue, or forum as being sacred in any way. Many of the 'family of God' can be found here in this forum, we His people are what is annointed of God, if we have His Spirit dwelling within us, and that is the only thing that could possibly make this place special. And you are a special lot of people! I prefer to call this forum the $ 4.95 club, (Chad`s joke) not a church, rather where the church can buy wine and milk with no money
