at what age should public schools begin teach sexuality? Should parents be allowed to preview the materials being taught their children. Who should teach such classes to your children. Does the state have a right to demand your child to attend?

Since typically parents do a VERY poor job of explaining it, children naturally out of curiosity get involved to find out first hand. For only that reason, I think schools should teach it, to include all the problems associated with pregnancy, venereal deceases, the fathers getting cold feet and sometimes accusing the woman of sleeping around, causing much grief, the end of career dreams, etc. I think only a little needs be shared concerning the process, and a LOT more concerning the numerous drawbacks to it. I do think a majority of parents should agree what the class will be teaching before the class goes forward. As to the age... I am not sure, but it should be before the girls can get pregnant.

Age 6-8 with consent of parents and well informed of the materials. Should be taught by the school librarian, they are the normal source of information. Parent should have the final say.

Who should be qualified to teach the children? What about such values like not having sex before marriahe? To what extent and depth do they teach? It seems to me like the public schoold have gone beyond just facts to values and morals.
I think most of us would say some parents ignore the topic altogether, and even churches tip toe about sex, even with teens that need it most of all. I am old fashion i think it's best to have women teach girls and men the boys. This can be worked into Sunday School lessons and be worked in even a little at a time with Biblical examples of good and bad sexual lives.
I am trusting public very little to even educate our kids. I think home schooling is bar far the best way to goBut so much depends on how parents can do it and how they can work in the time that is required. All this is not as easy as it was when I was a child that's for sure. There was respect and we obeyed back then. We also understood how shame felt, something that is almost nonexistant now.

The problem with public schools doing this is that it often goes far beyond mere education into the realm of outright indoctrination into promiscuous lifestyles by folks who wholeheartedly subscribe to ideas that go against the Word of God.

With Core Curriculum now being set up ( I know it is set up in my state, Tennessee), I am not in favor of sex education at school any longer because of some of the materials that they are using. They take the moral issues out and say that everything is okay and that everything is normal. This is not appropriate. I honestly don't know what I am going to do about it. My youngest son is only in the third grade, and they start this stuff in the 4th grade. He and I have talked about sexuality before because he started asking me questions when he was seven.

I think that children should only attend the sex-ed class "if" their parents sign a permission slip, and are given a copy of the curriculum before hand to help them decide.
