In Matthew 4:1-11 Jesus was tempted by satan. Prior to this He was just baptised. It seems that we can all relate to this. It seems like we are usually tempted when we try our best to do the right thing and change our ways to please God. When I want to do good evil is right there with me. Romans 7:21. When Jesus was tempted He used scripture as a weapon, and boldly demanded satan to flee from Him.I'm looking for the scripture which reads For the weapons of my warfare are not carnal but mighty through Christ, for the pulling down of strongholds. When Jesus was tempted by satan, He was on gaurd. How can we then follow our brother Jesus? By gaurding ourselves of course, because temptation willl come. But each one is temped when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. James 1:14. In Ephisians 6:10-18 You will find a full description and guide on the armor of God. But be careful not to just read the word, but to do what it says.
I write these word to you, because i know how satan will come in and try to discourage those who are not only new babes in Christ from going and growing stronger in the faith of God, but also those who are more mature in it to can also be tempted, mis lead, and led astray. Thats why it is important for us to follow jesus and stay gaurded with Gods armor with our sword in our hands which is the word of truthe! (refer to Ephisians 6:10-18)
When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the seed sown along the path. The one who received the seed that fell on rocky places was the man who hears the word and at once recieves it with joy. But since he has no root, he lasts only a short period. When trouble or persecution comes from the word, he quickly falls away. The one who recieved the seed that fell among the thorns is the one who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the decietfulness of wealth choke it, making it unfruitful. but the one who recieved the seed that fell on good soil is the man who hears the word and understands it. He produces a crop, yeilding 100, 60 or 30 times what was sown.
