The 2 Kinds of Faith of Abraham

"The faith of Christ"? You think you are not responsible for having faith? You think all are guilty and innocent at the same time. Calvinism is a false doctrine. Jesus is the Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe.

What do you think the faith of Christ even is ? That would seem to be the first thing of importance .

Do I think yoked with Christ I am responsible for the power of Christ that works in the believer to both will and perform His good pleasure ? No

Philippians 2: 13-14 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Do all things without murmurings and disputings:

Why do you think some murmur (what about me) and other workout their salvation with delight knowing God is working with them yoked with Christ ?

I as a apologist am responsible for the care of the armor of God that protects new creatures .

Are we innocent yet guilty at the same time? No

How many people who believe in God and Jesus repented without the hearing of law of God the gospel working in them empowering them to turn. Did they out of the clear blue sky just believe exercise or work the work of faith of there own accord.?

What is they do not hear the gospel the perfect law of God.
.
Romans 2:12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;

Jesus tells us who he saves and why.
He tells us how to be the one he saves.
He saves those who does what he says.
I as a apologist am responsible for the care of the armor of God that protects new creatures .

Are we innocent yet guilty at the same time? No

You are going to have to explain better from scripture.
Are you saying they didn't hear the word of God?
Are you saying they didn't repent of their sins?
What is they do not hear the gospel the perfect law of God.
.
Romans 2:12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;
God is going to judge us and how we lived our lives.

Jesus tells us who he saves and why.
He tells us how to be the one he saves.
He saves those who does what he says.

Yes , he saves those who does what he says. Faith, Christ working in us to both both will (reveal what he says) and empower (do what he says) .

No hearing what he says as law .No one to repent to. Two turning (repent) first he turns us by the hearing of His faith then empowered we can turn to him .

2 Corinthians 5:7 (For we walk by faith,(Christs) not by sight:)
God is going to judge us and how we lived our lives.
God has judged us and declared mankind guilty according to the letter of the law. (death)

As new creatures he continues to work with us .Having begun the good work of salvation in us he will continue to teach us of our new life and the promise after the grave

You could say we are on a leaning curve .I am a slow learner he remains my confidence till the end of time

We put zero confidence in the dying powerless flesh

Philippians 1;6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

Yes , he saves those who does what he says. Faith,
Faith alone is dead.

James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Faith and no right action, then the person's faith is dead and needs to be buried.
Christ working in us to both both will (reveal what he says) and empower (do what he says) .
No one is saved and has Christ in them unless they obey him first.

John 14:23 Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.

No Father, no Jesus, no Holy Spirit if a person doesn't first obey.

No hearing what he says as law .No one to repent to. Two turning (repent) first he turns us by the hearing of His faith then empowered we can turn to him .

2 Corinthians 5:7 (For we walk by faith,(Christs) not by sight:)
God sees what you are doing. He searches minds and hearts and saves those who do right.

Revelation 2:23 I will strike her children dead. Then all the churches will know that I am he who searches hearts and minds, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds.

Faith alone is dead.

James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Faith and no right action, then the person's faith is dead and needs to be buried.
The faith of Christ's labor of love that work in Jesus alone satisficed the just demands of law of the father .

Can't separate faith from works, or the will from the power. Both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

The key is both.

No will. . no performance.
No performance . . no will to cause it

God works not of ourselves

Philippians 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

No one is saved and has Christ in them unless they obey him first.

Yes he must do the first work of revealing his will so that then after being empowered we can obey .

No will nothing to obey Again "both" to will and obey .

Its the law of faith .Let there be (the will) and it was good, (the work. In the garden mankind disobeyed and did the will and work of the father of lives with his lying power

God sees what you are doing. He searches minds and hearts and saves those who do right.

Revelation 2:23 I will strike her children dead. Then all the churches will know that I am he who searches hearts and minds, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds.

Yes He searches minds and hearts .He will not forget the good works we have performed according to His power that works in us .Not us we have no power living in earthen bodies of death .we are promised new incorruptible bodies that will never die.

Note... (no power) to hear the will and work to preform it

Note. .. (Power) "both" to hear the will and empower the work to preform it

2 Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

The faith of Christ's labor of love that work in Jesus alone satisficed the just demands of law of the father .
Jesus said if you want to be loved by the Father, then you have to obey.

John 14:23 Jesus replied, "Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.

Jesus even says that if you want to remain in his love, they you have to keep obeying, and it is how he remained in his Father's love.

John 15:10 If you obey my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commandments and remain in his love.
Can't separate faith from works, or the will from the power. Both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

The key is both.

Faith without right action is dead, it does NOT save.
God does not save us first by making us will and work.

No such thing as God saving us first to make us believe and obey Him.

No will. . no performance.
No performance . . no will to cause it

God works not of ourselves

Philippians 2:13 For it is
God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

That is about AFTER a person believes and obeys.

God does not work in someone who isn't saved.

Yes he must do the first work of revealing his will so that then after being empowered we can obey .
No such thing. It is not in the scriptures anywhere.
No will nothing to obey Again "both" to will and obey .
God doesn't make anyone do anything.
He helps those who want Him.

1 Samuel 2:30 "Therefore the LORD, the God of Israel, declares: 'I promised that members of your family would minister before me forever.' But now the LORD declares: 'Far be it from me! Those who honor me I will honor, but those who despise me will be disdained.

Its the law of faith .Let there be (the will) and it was good, (the work. In the garden mankind disobeyed and did the will and work of the father of lives with his lying power

No one receives the Holy Spirit, the power of God, unless they first believe and obey.

No one receives the Holy Spirit, the power of God, unless they first believe and obey.
First beleive and obey what there own imagination?

The living abiding word of God?

And with what power to believe the unseen things of God ?

We believe in what we read in the Bible.
Some believe that water baptism is for the remission of sins because of Acts 2:38 but Acts 10:43-44 says otherwise plainly enough before water baptism as well as other scriptures about how we are save by believing in Jesus Christ. John 3:15-16

Just as you believe repent is for repenting from all sins rather than repenting from unbelief by believing in Him is how we had receive the remission of sins and the gifts of the Holy Ghost for how those Gentiles were born again.

I am sure that some sinners are told to hope in Christ Jesus to deliver them from their sins in that mental disposition in repenting from all sins in desiring to live that reconciled relationship with God thru Jesus Christ but they still have to look to Him daily in living that life of repentance by trusting Him as their Good Shepherd to help them discern, and lay aside every weight & sin in running that race as His disciple to bear fruit & have their joy full in the Lord in following Him.

So no saved believer can repent from all sins before salvation when it is a daily life of repentance every disciple is living by faith in Jesus Christ daily after salvation. We have to be saved first by believing in Him even in His name, for Him to dwell in us so we can live as the sons of God by faith in Jesus Christ. John 1:12-13 Hebrews 12:1-2

Exactly the first works . God empowered mankind so that they can believe. The faith of Christ comes from hearing Christ
It is a natural ability to believe. There is no such scripture anywhere in the Bible that says God empowers unbelievers so that they can believe.

It is a natural ability to believe. There is no such scripture anywhere in the Bible that says God empowers unbelievers so that they can believe.

Its natural to believe the supernatural?

So then you changed your mind and its us that turns God and not him turning us to hear and believe .?

You are saying faith the power to believe does not come from hearing God as it is writen in the law and prophets.

Where does it come from then?

Some believe that water baptism is for the remission of sins because of Acts 2:38 but Acts 10:43-44 says otherwise plainly enough before water baptism as well as other scriptures about how we are save by believing in Jesus Christ. John 3:15-16
Water baptism is just a ceremony of what has already happened in the heart.
I believe one should do this water baptism ceremony, even if you do it by yourself in your bathtub, or pool.

Just as you believe repent is for repenting from all sins rather than repenting from unbelief by believing in Him is how we had receive the remission of sins and the gifts of the Holy Ghost for how those Gentiles were born again.
Some people never heard of Jesus or heard the gospel so how are they going to repent of unbelief? Think more carefully. I gave you scriptures that say we have to repent of sins. If your sin is unbelief, then repent of that too. If your sin is believing and following falseness, repent of that too.

When I wanted to be saved, I didn't have to repent of unbelief, because I was raised from infancy about the Father and Jesus, and I believed.
I had to repent of sins, and, repent for believing and following falseness.

So your repent being only about unbelief is not accurate. We have to repent of sins.

When we come to Jesus to be saved, we come to him as a little child. That means we come to him with every inclination of only doing what he says to do.
We then humble ourselves and repent of our sins.
We have to know what our sins are.
After being saved, if we see some other sins we did not realize we were doing, then we can repent of them after being saved.
We still have to admit we are sinners and there are sins we know we are doing!

Read what John the baptizer says to those he knows were coming to be water baptized but were NOT going to stop their sins:

Matthew 3:6 and they were being baptized by him in the Jordan River, as they confessed their sins. 7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming for baptism, he said to them, "You brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? 8"Therefore bear fruit in keeping with repentance;

12 His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor, gathering his wheat into the barn and burning up the chaff with unquenchable fire."

Herod Antipas (son of Herod the Great) put John the baptizer into prison because John had preached against the king for taking his brother’s wife. Repenting is about STOP SINNING.

Mark 6:14 King Herod heard about this, for Jesus’ name had become well known. Some were saying, “John the Baptist has been raised from the dead, and that is why miraculous powers are at work in him.”

15 Others said, “He is Elijah.”

And still others claimed, “He is a prophet, like one of the prophets of long ago.”

16 But when Herod heard this, he said, “John, whom I beheaded, has been raised from the dead!”

17 For Herod himself had given orders to have John arrested, and he had him bound and put in prison. He did this because of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife, whom he had married. 18 For John had been saying to Herod, “It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.” 19 So Herodias nursed a grudge against John and wanted to kill him. But she was not able to, 20 because Herod feared John and protected him, knowing him to be a righteous and holy man. When Herod heard John, he was greatly puzzled; yet he liked to listen to him.

21 Finally the opportune time came. On his birthday Herod gave a banquet for his high officials and military commanders and the leading men of Galilee. 22 When the daughter of Herodias came in and danced, she pleased Herod and his dinner guests.

The king said to the girl, “Ask me for anything you want, and I’ll give it to you.” 23 And he promised her with an oath, “Whatever you ask I will give you, up to half my kingdom.”

24 She went out and said to her mother, “What shall I ask for?”

“The head of John the Baptist,” she answered.

25 At once the girl hurried in to the king with the request: “I want you to give me right now the head of John the Baptist on a platter.”

26 The king was greatly distressed, but because of his oaths and his dinner guests, he did not want to refuse her. 27 So he immediately sent an executioner with orders to bring John’s head. The man went, beheaded John in the prison, 28 and brought back his head on a platter. He presented it to the girl, and she gave it to her mother. 29 On hearing of this, John’s disciples came and took his body and laid it in a tomb.

Luke 3:7 So he began saying to the crowds who were going out to be baptized by him, “You brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? 8 Therefore bear fruits in keeping with repentance,...

...18 So with many other exhortations he preached the gospel to the people. 19 But when Herod the tetrarch was reprimanded by him because of Herodias, his brother’s wife, and because of all the wicked things which Herod had done, 20 Herod also added this to them all: he locked John up in prison.

Its natural to believe the supernatural?
It is.
So then you changed your mind
I always believed in God, I was raised knowing about God and Jesus and always believed.
and its us that turns God and not him turning us to hear and believe .?
What? How do you get that twisted to say we turn God?
You are saying faith the power to believe does not come from hearing God as it is writen in the law and prophets.

Where does it come from then?
You need to pay better attention before you claim someone says something.

I have been telling you faith comes from hearing the gospel.
You however teach something from teachers that are not true. You teach that God empowers us to believe and obey.
You act like there is a special empowering before someone believes and obeys to make them believe and obey.
That is not scripture.

Water baptism is just a ceremony of what has already happened in the heart.
I believe one should do this water baptism ceremony, even if you do it by yourself in your bathtub, or pool.
It is more of a public witness when baptized by some one else's as the first step in being a disciple of Jesus Christ after having been saved by Him by believing in Him.
Some people never heard of Jesus or heard the gospel so how are they going to repent of unbelief? Think more carefully. I gave you scriptures that say we have to repent of sins. If your sin is unbelief, then repent of that too. If your sin is believing and following falseness, repent of that too.
But the gospel is not about repenting from all sins to save yourself but the gospel is about Jesus Christ in testifying of Him so when sinners believe in him, they are saved as Jesus said in John 3:15-16 as it is those who do not believe that are already condemned per John 3:18

As for your scripture about repenting of sins, they cannot null & void Jesus words for how we are saved in John 3:15-16 and so you are applying those verses wrong when they can only apply to discipleship & not salvation because you would never get the Holy Spirit since per your beliefs, you still have to obey in order & repent from all sins daily in order to get the Holy Spirit.
When I wanted to be saved, I didn't have to repent of unbelief, because I was raised from infancy about the Father and Jesus, and I believed.
I had to repent of sins, and, repent for believing and following falseness.

So your repent being only about unbelief is not accurate. We have to repent of sins.
The very first moment you had believed in Jesus Christ, you were saved.
When we come to Jesus to be saved, we come to him as a little child. That means we come to him with every inclination of only doing what he says to do.
And what can a child do but trust Him at His word that by believing in Him is how we are saved.
We then humble ourselves and repent of our sins.
We have to know what our sins are.
After being saved, if we see some other sins we did not realize we were doing, then we can repent of them after being saved.
We still have to admit we are sinners and there are sins we know we are doing!
This is proof that you know you cannot have had repented from all sins because after you had been saved, you realize other sins that you needed to repent of.

Nowhere in Acts does the presentation of the gospel goes down a list of sins for sinners to know what sins are for them to repent from all those sins before coming to & believing in Jesus Christ.

It does not matter what the intents of your heart was, because there are some sins that a saved believer may not be aware of and may never became aware of even unto death.

Therefore we are saved by simply believing in Jesus Christ and His disciples are to teach new believers His commandments that they are to look to Him for help in doing in living that life of repentance because there is no other way to live that reconciled relationship with God except thru Jesus Christ by faith in Him in being our Good Shepherd and NOT by resorting to our own will power nor the will of the religious flesh as if repenting from all sins is how we are born of God.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

I cannot see how you can apply those verses to your beliefs at all but I can apply your verses about repentance per the context it is given like Acts 2:36-38 to be about repenting from unbelief for crucifying Jesus in unbelief for why they were pricked in their hearts and 2 Timothy 2:18-21 is how we & even former believers are to repent from iniquity, so we can be received by Him as that vessel unto honor in His House or risk damnation of being left behind as vessels unto dishonor in His House for not departing from iniquity.

Discipleship is separate from salvation because we are to run with Him in us so we can look to Him for help daily in laying aside every weight & sin for the high prize of our calling to be that vessel unto honor in His House, which is the eternal glory that comes with our salvation in Christ Jesus.

If you run that race to obtain salvation, then you would never have the Holy Spirit and it would be a race done in vain, but because you do believe in Jesus Christ, you are saved but believe that works are necessary for salvation for why running the race in that way is a work that denies Him as Saviour because you are saved the moment you had first believed in Jesus Christ when you were a child. Once saved, there is only going on to perfection and not every one is doing that in these latter days where faith is hard to find because many have fallen away from the faith in more ways than one 1 Timothy 4:1 and yet He shall lose none of all the Father has given Him John 6:39 and the Father's will is stated plainly here that those who believe in Him shall have eternal life John 6:40.

1 Timothy 4:1Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

John 6:39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. 40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

It is more of a public witness when baptized by some one else's as the first step in being a disciple of Jesus Christ after having been saved by Him by believing in Him.
No. What you say is not scripture, it is teachings from someone in a denomination you chose.
There were many people who were baptized in the Bible and they didn't do it in front of anyone.
Think of the eunuch and the jailer and Cornelius.
But the gospel is not about repenting from all sins to save yourself
It sounds as if you read a lot of commentaries from men or a lot of books and articles from leaders of denominations.
We are to prove our beliefs by the scriptures.
You go against any thought or action to get saved.
You should only go by the scriptures.

We save ourselves by believing we have to obey Jesus.

Acts 2:40 With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.”

One would think you see a scripture like that, it would make you never again speak against obeying Jesus to get saved.
but the gospel is about Jesus Christ in testifying of Him so when sinners believe in him, they are saved as Jesus said in John 3:15-16 as it is those who do not believe that are already condemned per John 3:18
We have to believe that we have to obey him.
Do you really want to keep to what you were taught by men that we only have to believe and it means do nothing else?
We are told many times by Jesus that believing alone does not bless and does not make one a disciple and family member and friend.
We are told that faith alone is dead.
So when Jesus says to believe, why do you cut off all the other times Jesus says to obey?
We have to believe everything he says.

We have to believe that we don't just go straight to God and believe and obey Him, but now we have to believe that we have to go straight to Jesus to believe and obey to get to the Father.

As for your scripture about repenting of sins, they cannot null & void Jesus words for how we are saved in John 3:15-16 and so you are applying those verses wrong when they can only apply to discipleship & not salvation
There is no such thing as Jesus speaking to Jews and they not know they have to obey. Maybe Gentiles would get confused by that by Paul later, but no such thing as Jesus telling Jews to believe in him meaning only believe and not obey him.

because you would never get the Holy Spirit since per your beliefs, you still have to obey in order & repent from all sins daily in order to get the Holy Spirit.
I was saved in a powerful way when I was saved, and it wouldn't have happened that way if I didn't obey and repent of my sins.
So you can't persuade me with that tripe about my not being saved for obeying.
No such thing as Jesus keeping someone condemned if they believe and obey him.
The very first moment you had believed in Jesus Christ, you were saved.
No I wasn't.
And what can a child do but trust Him at His word that by believing in Him is how we are saved.
We have to be obedient, as little children obey their parents.
You say not obey only trust, but that is not in the scriptures that claim children don't obey their parents.
This is proof that you know you cannot have had repented from all sins because after you had been saved, you realize other sins that you needed to repent of.
No such thing as your proof.
If you don't know what your sins are, then you don't even know that you are a sinner.
What you are saying is against what Jesus says.

Nowhere in Acts does the presentation of the gospel goes down a list of sins for sinners to know what sins are for them to repent from all those sins before coming to & believing in Jesus Christ.
People know what sins are. If they don't, then they need to look in the scriptures.
It does not matter what the intents of your heart was, because there are some sins that a saved believer may not be aware of and may never became aware of even unto death.
That person better find out. That is another reason you shouldn't teach what you do, for the scriptures say to study and find out what pleases the Lord, and to add to your faith knowledge.
Oh so after one is saved you think they should know what their sins are. Maybe then they don't want to give something up. What you are saying goes against Jesus who says that the prostitutes and tax collectors are entering ahead because they do what God wants.

You don't get to enter first, GodB4Us, if you don't do what God wants.

Read how in the passage they were both sons, but which one entered? The one who DID what they father said to do.

Believe what Jesus says and not what some teacher you choose taught you.

Matthew 21:31 “Which of the two did what his father wanted?” “The first,” they answered. Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you.
John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
That is about God saving someone He accepts.
God accepts those who obey Him.

Acts 10:35 but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right.

Psalm 50:23 Whoever sacrifices a thank offering honors Me, and whoever orders his conduct, I will show him the salvation of God."

Acts 20:21 I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus.

Acts 26:20 First to those in Damascus, then to those in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and to the Gentiles also, I preached that they should repent and turn to God and prove their repentance by their deeds.

John 14:21 The person who has my commandments and obeys them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved bymy Father, and I will love him and will reveal myself to him."

Acts 5:32 We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him."

1 John 3:24 Those who obey his commands live in him, and he in them.

We are blessed as a disciple, a family member and friend if we do what Jesus says.

Luke 11:28 He replied, "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it."

Matthew 12:50 For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother."

John 15:14 You are my friends if you do what I command.

John 8:31 Then Jesus said to those Judeans who had believed him, "If you continue to follow my teaching, you are really my disciples

Revelation 1:3 Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear and obey what is written in it, because the time is near.

John 13:17 Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

We are blessed if we obey, not just for just believing. Being saved is the most important thing in life, the greatest blessing in life, and according to Jesus that blessing is when we obey.

No. What you say is not scripture, it is teachings from someone in a denomination you chose.
Explain these scripture then.

John 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Read the gospel that Paul preached for how any one is saved by believing in Him.

Romans 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! 16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? 17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Reads to me that Paul agrees with Jesus Christ in how we are saved by believing in Him.

Is that not plain enough in the scripture? His words should be sticking out like a sore thumb for how you are applying His words elsewhere to mean otherwise thus you are making the simplicity of the gospel not so simple.

Explain these scripture then.
I keep explaining them and you don't listen.

We have to believe that we have to obey Jesus.
Look at all the scriptures where we are told to obey, the whole Bible says it.
In the New Testament it starts with John the baptizer.
Why don't you ever address the scriptures I give? All you do is post the scriptures about believe and you ignore the obey ones.
