Denominational Differences

In very basic terms the difference between denominations falls in the differences that each group interprets, prioritizes and empasizes secondary doctrines, while agreeing on the primary ones.

I'm from a holiness church. Basically, we believe that we can become a holy people. Anyone can become perfect Christians. The thing is that most people don't because of their own selfish desires. We all have the choice, we simply choose to disobey God because it's easier

I agree. This is well put and simple.

Denominations are not biblical and generally, not unbiblical in the sense of being unique group of Christians. The critical factor here is that Jesus is the core of it all and acknowledged as Scripture explains Him: our Savior, the Living Son of GOD. You must be careful of some denominations as well. Some are not true Christian based denominations. The obvious ones are JW (Jehovah's Witnesses), Mormonism and Catholicism (the most heated debates being this one). Yes some Catholics believe in Jesus as Scripture says who He is, but their teaching is not biblical 100% the way it should be. Plus, there are many other reasons to stay away. http://www.talkjesus.com/bible-study-hall/5886-christian-catholic.html

Denominations are not necessary. I attend a non-denominational church. I don't care for names or uniqueness. I care to learn more about Jesus, to send His grace story to others and to edify each other in the Word. Its so simple what the truth is, but the annoyance is the selfishness in people to do their own thing, their way. Had every believer allowed the Holy Spirit to lead 100%, no denominations would exist. Just Christianity as a belief.

Be careful and don't get caught up with those cults Chad mentioned.

I noticed you mention Baptists. Baptists believe the Bible alone, the Trinity, Jesus was sinless and died for sinners, Salvation by Grace alone, Eternal Salvation, Heaven and Hell are real, etc.

Denominations really don't matter. The main thing is that you're saved, but I do believe everyone needs to get in a good Bible Believing church, if possible.

Hebrews 10:25
"Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." KJV

I don't think anyone can be perfect. That's why we need the Blood applied. I've never met a perfect person, but I know we'll all be perfect that glorious day when the Lord calls us home.

Isaiah 64:6
"But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away." KJV

God Bless
