The Bible Never said that even The Very Elect could be deceived But I notice over 44 years I heard Christians say even The very "E" could be deceived

" If it was POSSIBLE" !! meaning it cannot be done, "The Very ELECT" cannot be deceived. But said nothing about "The ELECT" of GOD!
" We have 'The ELECT of GOD" and we have "THE VERY ELECT of GOD".

And I have notice that many modern day translations and new copyrights of old translations has omitted the word "VERY". Little by little they have been sabotaging the Biblical text. just a bit at a time, The devil is very smart and very cunning. BUT God has The "VERY ELECT"

{My wife used to say, how can you pick a error out of 1000-3000 pages reference book. My response I do not know.} even a simple word in the "NJKV" when it first came out! and I even notice the differences between "The KJV OXFORD EDITION from The CAMBRIDGE Edition" read every page beginning at page Roman numeral I.

May I ask, do you ever read the copyright year and who the editor is of the lexicon or the translation you used or the dictionary copyright date, like they taught us to do when we 1st learn how to read in "grammar school".. And the 1st thing concerning Bible reading "The Introduction to the Bible 101" we look at the copyright year. and learn what they did to the biblical text in that copying year and the word changes they made and why. that should be in every translation. The introduction pages is there for a reason. to know what you are reading and why it has been reprinted. every word been added or subtracted.

And what codex was used or what translation the translation Was translated from. we as students of the Bible have reading bibles for reading and studying Bibles for studying from certain Editors and copyright year.

I would never study from a bible of an "NIV after 1984" or a "ASV" or a "RSV" after 1970 copyright or a "NSRB" after 1969. would I read any bible after those dates of course. But I would never study a bible after those copyright dates. and as far as a lexicon from the internet and the devil is the The GOD of the internet it belongs to his Kingdom. if you are serious you should go out and spend about "$1500.00 - $2.000.00" for the hard copies for what you need and get the real McCoy if you are really serious . and learn the Hebrew and greek Alphabet. and Translate the "Textus Receptus" at least one time.

The old way or look it up on the internet, but do not translate it by a corrupted online "lexicon" ether Greek of Hebrew. it would be better if you bought a used "Browns-Diver Hebrew and English Lexicon" And A "Thayer's Greek & English Lexicon' and it is impossible to translate into a English translation according to The "CODEX" of The Greek manuscript without "VINES Dictionary of New Testament words" it is impossible to do it right. and make sure you have The Englishman Greek concordance and The Englishman Hebrew Concordance, if you want to do it right! Guaranteed your out come will be different and you will be "BLESSED" after looking the meaning of the words in that depth. Like GOD had it written.

Obviously Paul is talking to believers here. People who have "one husband" ( Christ ) and have a "purity of devotion to Christ". But he warns them they can be deceived and led astray.

Jas 1:13; Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone.
Jas 1:14; But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust.
Jas 1:15; Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death.
Jas 1:16; Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren.
Jas 1:17; Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.

"Do not be deceived.... "brethren". Who are the brethren? Believers. Now why would James warn believers not to be deceived?

2Thes 2:1; Now we request you, brethren, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him,
2Thes 2:2; that you not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit or a message or a letter as if from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come.
2Thes 2:3; Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,

Who is this passage written to? The "brethren" who are waiting for "the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ".
But Paul says... "Let no one in any way deceive you". Now why would he say that?

1Jn 2:22; Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son.
1Jn 2:23; Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father; the one who confesses the Son has the Father also.
1Jn 2:24; As for you, let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father.
1Jn 2:25; This is the promise which He Himself made to us: eternal life.
1Jn 2:26; These things I have written to you concerning those who are trying to deceive you.

John gives a warning about people who teach Jesus isn't the Christ. He goes on to say "IF" you keep on believing "what you heard from the beginning" then you "will abide in the Son and the Father".
I've "written this to you concerning those who are trying to deceive you". Why would John warn believers about being deceived?

1Tim 4:1; But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons,

Why does Paul say here that "deceitful" ( deceiving ) spirits will cause some people to "fall away from the faith" ?
