I have an uncle, with a neighbour of the Christadelphian faith.
This family that lives next door to him, are regular attenders at the local Christadelphian Hall. Their beliefs seem to be as such. They have explained to my uncle that the Christadelphians are the chosen few, and that the rest of the world will not receive the God’s blessings of eternal life.
Where do they get this type of thinking from? I can not see it written in the Bible where only their chosen few will receive eternal life. You, may be able to assist me, as I think it is almost arrogant that people can think this way?

In my opinion, God loves everyone, including people from all the different cultures throughout the world.

Your comments are welcome.

Another cult, that's all.

article from gotquestions.org

The Christadelphian sect was founded in 1838 by John Thomas, a London-born physician turned Bible teacher. Like the founders of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mormons and Christian Scientists, Thomas believed he alone had found the truth of real Christianity. One wonders how these men could “study” the Bible and come to the conclusion that God would leave humanity floundering in the darkness of error and apostasy for 1800 years, only to finally reveal Himself to one man. Nevertheless, that is what John Thomas taught.

Christadelphianism teaches the same two lies as literally every cult and false religion: they deny the deity of Jesus Christ and preach a works-based salvation. Regarding the deity of Christ, Christadelphianism teaches that Jesus was more than a man, but less than God. According to A. Hayward, in Great News for the World, p. 41, Jesus was a created being with “strength of character to right some of the most appalling wrongs of his time.” They teach that Jesus had a sinful nature and himself needed salvation from sin, that he was not pre-existent and did not come into existence until he was born in Bethlehem. The Bible declares that Jesus was sinless. He “committed no sin” (1 Peter 2:22); “in him is no sin” (1 John 3:5); He “had no sin” (2 Corinthians 5:21); He was “tempted in every way . . . yet was without sin” (Hebrews 4:15). That Jesus was pre-existent is also evident from such passages as John 1, where He (the Word) was “in the beginning with God” (v. 2) and that all things that were created “were created through him” (v. 3) and that “he became flesh and dwelt among us” (v. 14). Denying that Jesus is the Second Person of the Trinity is another universal characteristic of cults, although the biblical evidence for the doctrine of our Triune God is abundant.

The second universally taught lie is that of salvation by works. The Christadelphians believe that faith in Christ is the beginning point, but salvation is by no means completed there. While they do claim to teach “salvation by grace,” that claim is buried beneath a landslide of demands for works righteousness. Salvation to the Christadelphians is a process, is not given at the point of faith in Christ, is dependent upon “belief in the covenants,” good works and baptism. Salvation, they believe, is the gift of God, but only bestowed on those whose works merit it. The Bible clearly teaches that “all our righteousness is as filthy rags” (Isaiah 64:6), that works cannot save us, and that no one can keep even the smallest part of the law. “For whoever shall keep the whole Law and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all” (James 2:10). But “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, being made a curse for us…” (Galatians 3:10). The Law, works, and personal righteousness are powerless to save us. Only faith in Christ and His perfect sacrifice on the cross can save us (Galatians 2:16; Romans 3:28; John 3:16). We are saved by faith alone, in Christ alone. “For He has made Him who knew no sin, to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Corinthians 5:21). If, as the Christadelphians teach, we must merit our salvation through our own efforts, then Christ died in vain (Galatians 2:21), the free gift described in Ephesians 2:8-9 is not free at all, and therefore God is made a liar.

Other unbiblical beliefs of the Christadelphians include: The Holy Spirit is an impersonal force; man does not have an immortal soul; Satan is not a personal being, but merely synonym for any adversary; death is unconsciousness or annihilation; and heaven and hell are myths. Rather than restoring true Christianity, the Christadelphians deny the basic doctrines clearly outlined in the Bible and, as such, are like all false religion – a lie from the father of lies, Satan, who “walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour” (1 Peter 5:8).

i have never heard of that denomination or church so i cannot speak on them. however it is true that Gods chosen/elect people have eternal life BUT they are not a denomination or a church building and no one knows who they are, we walk in faith that we are the elect but who the elect are only God knows and they are revealed by their baring of fruits.

We are all equal. God has no respecter of persons.
Acts 10:34-"Then Peter opened his mouth. and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that fears him, and works righteousness, is accepted with him."

His blessings and his abundant life is grace for all.
Matthew 5:45- "That you may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he makes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust."

We are all one. We all have the same choice.
Romans 10:12- "For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him."

When the bible says that God is no respector of persons, it means He does not look at a persons attributes and favors them because they are pretty or rich or whatever. However this does not mean that God does not chose some people over others. The thing is, God did not chose the elect based on what they look like or have, or based on their own works or what they by themselves are like.

The chosen or elect are people who God formed to be the elect. They are chosen because they are the clay that God formed to be for that purpose in His will. They are predestined to be conformed into the image of Jesus and they will look like Jesus, they will bare fruit, they will be saved, they will inherit because God made them to that end- it is not because they choose or they work or they on their own do anything. It is also not because as many like to say God looked into the future to see what they would do and chose them based on what He knew they would do. That would be of their works and that is not what the bible says God did.

Rom 9:10 And not only [this]; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, [even] by our father Isaac; (For [the children] being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;)It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger. As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated. What shall we say then? [Is there] unrighteousness with God? God forbid. For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So then [it is] not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth. Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will [have mercy], and whom he will he hardeneth.Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed [it], Why hast thou made me thus?Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?[What] if God, willing to shew [his] wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles? As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved.

Pro 16:4 The LORD hath made all [things] for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

Jud 1:4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

God has elect people from every worldly nation, He does not favor based either on one being a gentile or physical jew because He has formed them to be His elect to fulfil His purpose and He saves them and delivers them into His kingdom.

Those who fear the Lord and have faith in the Lord and work rightousness do so becuase those are gifts of God given to those people by God. No man can repent unless God grant them repentance and it is not given to all, just as none can come unless the Lord draws them and calls them and all are not called. the word says many are called few are chosen.

The doctorine that are all called is not true and never is it said in the word, the word says many called- few chosen.Mat 22:14 For many are called, but few [are] chosen.

It is true that God is merciful to the just and unjust to the wicked and the rightous- just because He is merciful to send them rain and give them food sometimes, does not mean that they all get a " chance" and a " choice". No one deserves a " chance" or a " choice" flesh is emnity with God and it cannot itself choose God. It is God who changes us, calls us, grants us repentance, and gives us the gift of grace and faith to be saved.

God has formed out of clay, vessels of dishounor to be used for wickedness and He created them for the day of evil. They were never meant to be saved and they never get a " chance". He does not take pleasure in their destruction but He uses them for the good of His elect and to show forth His wrath. without these people, the elect would have no one to persecute them or hate them or chasten them and this is what God uses them for in our lives for our good.

God also formed vessels of honour to show forth His glory, to be conformed into the image of His son becuase it is Sons of God that God wants out of this creation. All things in this creation He uses for the good of these elect vessels of dishonour.

People like to believe it was themselves that chose God, that changed, that did the work that saved them but that is a false gospel albeit the popular one.

We do not know who the vessels of honor and dishonour are- we are to pray for everyone and bring the word to people so that if the Lord calls them they can be saved and if they are not called, the word they have heard finds them guilty. We walk by faith that we are elect however our fruit will prove if we indeed are or not.

Chad is right calling this a cult.

I praise God for the truth

Romans 10:12-13
12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”

I will keep them in prayer.

You said the vessels of dishonor never get a chance to be saved?

Yes that is what i said. vessels of dishonor that are fitted for destruction- the wicked that He made for the day of evil even get a " chance" to be saved. That does not mean that vessels of honor have always manifested that they are vessels of honor because God bound all under sin and the curse so that He could have mercy on those He choses. In other words we were all sinners true- however God knows the eternal purpose He created us for and those who were created for destruction never get a " chance". Really though no one gets a " chance" becuase nothing is by chance, those who are saved God saves, God gives them the faith to believe, the grace, grants them the repentance. It is His work by His will.

But the vessels fitted for destruction never are given the faith to be saved, never granted repentance never called never drawn etc...

Thank you for explaining the cult, "Christadelphians".

This particular group of people have many of their halls here in our city of Adelaide, Australia. When I often drive my car near their halls, I notice that they tend to often have influential and different topics on their public notice boards. Most of these topics include the end times, the middle east conflict and what God says will happen in the middle east, or do you know your bible a free seminar about the bible and how it relates to today.
I just think they are way of beam and can only be considered as a cult.
They don't believe in the trinity, and also don't recognize Christmas and Easter.

I am not sure if this organization is very prominent in other parts of the world. Your comments are always welcome.
Thank you for all your replies.
