I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in me will no longer remain in the dark. John 12:46 NLT
You have a choice to make, and it isn’t a difficult one. Yet many will hesitate and push the decision to a future date or simply reject the idea altogether. What is the choice? Trusting God. The positive result of this trust? Clarity. To make the other choice would be like trying to read in a dark room. There’s a light switch, but when you refuse to use it, you can’t see to read—and because you can’t read, you cannot learn.
Turning on the light helps you to see spiritually. That’s clarity, which makes the things you have previously misunderstood understandable. It allows you a glimpse into God’s plan and purpose for your life. It suggests wisdom is yours you can use the light in order to learn truth.
Some people get so used to living in this world’s darkness that they can never understand anything but heading toward a future filled with nothing but futility. But the light Jesus gives helps you see where you’re going, move beyond where you’ve been, and discover that there’s hope in this very moment.
Prayer: I don’t want to live in darkness, God. Help me seek the light of Your Son and see a future that’s good. This is the clarity of Your kindness.
