As for Me, this is My covenant or league with them, says the Lord: My Spirit, Who is upon you [and Who writes the law of God inwardly on the heart], and My words which I have put in your mouth shall not depart out of your mouth, or out of the mouths of your [true, spiritual] children, or out of the mouths of your children’s children, says the Lord, from henceforth and forever. Isaiah 59:21 AMPC
Does the message of today’s verse sound familiar?
In John 14:16 (AMPC), Jesus said something similar: “And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever.”
Long before Jesus was born in the flesh, God planned to send His Spirit into His people to advocate for, strengthen, and comfort them. And not just for the current generation but for many to come after them.
That’s where you come in. After receiving the Holy Spirit, what are you doing to make sure God’s words do not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouths of your children? Are you making the scriptures a priority in your home? Are you setting aside enough time to spend in them? Are you able to recite verses as situations present themselves?
Prayer: Father, I love Your Word, but I confess to not spending as much time in it as I should. That changes today.
