This is one of the main prophetic Messages brethren should... be hearing in the true Churches of Christ today. We are living in the times when this event will occur, and I mean specifically the "great tribulation" timing our Lord Jesus forewarned us about, including the links to it He gave through Apostle John in His Revelation. And I will not debate this issue, so for those who want to disregard it, fine, go to your doctrines of men you love instead.

Matt 24:23-26
23 Then if any man shall say unto you, "Lo, here is Christ, or there"; believe it not.
24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
25 Behold, I have told you before.
26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, "Behold, He is in the desert"; go not forth: "behold, He is in the secret chambers"; believe it not.
(KJV)

In Matthew 24:23-26 our Lord Jesus gave us a warning that when some begin to say those things in bold, to not believe it.

Why will some be saying that for the coming tribulation time? It will be because a false messiah is to come to Jerusalem, end the daily sacrifices that will be going on with the near-future temple the orthodox Jews plan to build again today, and instead place an idol abomination in that temple, fulfilling the "abomination of desolation" prophecy our Lord Jesus quoted from in this Matthew 24 chapter.

But isn't that about the "many antichrists" Apostle John warned about, and thus means anyone in the past or today that claims to be Christ? No. That was the subject Jesus covered back at Matthew 24:5 about many coming in His Name saying they are Christ.

We've already seen many of those. So what makes this one here in the 23-26 verses different, and as a specific false messiah?

Firstly, the context of Matt.24:23-26 is singular except... that "false Christs" phrase in English. In Greek it is the word pseudochristos. One needs to remember that Christos in Greek means a singular Christ, our Lord Jesus. That is how Dr. James Strong also defined that word pseudochristos ('a spurious Christ' - Strong's no.5580). It's easy to see this discrepancy in the KJV Bible translation too, because of the tense of verses 23 & 26 are about a singular false Christ the deceived will be saying has arrived.

Secondly, note in verse 24 what that singular pseudo-Christ is to work, i.e., "great signs and wonders". Has anyone ever seen some man back in history or today claiming to be Christ and able to work those "great signs and wonders" that would almost if it were possible, deceive even Christ's elect servants? We know Christ's elect servants that will refuse to take the mark of the beast and be persecuted for it will not bow to that false one, just like Daniel and his brethren refused to bow in false worship to the gold idol of Nebuchadnezzar in their day. Christ's elect cannot be deceived, which is why our Lord Jesus said that, "if it were possible" about them.

Thirdly, our Lord Jesus gave this specific warning TWICE for emphasis to not believe those who say that He is here, or in the desert, or the secret chambers, etc. One warning should be enough, but He warned us twice about it, and that always means He is placing emphasis.

Fourthly, with this event our Lord Jesus tied together the prophecy of the false one in the Book of Daniel, and in His Book of Revelation.

Rev 13:11-14
11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
(KJV)

There's that working of "great wonders" our Lord Jesus was warning about in the Matt.24:24 verse. Since He already foretold us in Matt.24:23-26 don't heed the deceived when they shall say Christ is here, or there, etc., then how does that link the "great signs and wonders" by that pseudo-Christ with this "another beast" of Rev.13:11? Our Lord Jesus showed us that too, if we pay attention. What does the idea of one coming with the appearance of a 'lamb' but speaks as the dragon mean? Back in Rev.12:7 we were told the title "dragon" is another title for the devil himself. So what does it mean with the "dragon" coming to appear like a lamb instead of himself? Who is The Lamb slain anyway? The lamb is a symbol for our Lord Jesus Christ. Thus our Lord Jesus showed us about this coming pseudo-Christ and even who he actually will be if we paid attention, i.e., the devil himself. So would it make more sense that the devil would have power to work those "great wonders" and "miracles" on earth in the sight of men (i.e., flesh men) that would almost... deceive Christ's elect, if it were possible? Yes, most definitely.

Fifthly, Apostle Paul covered this matter of the pseudo-Christ coming to Jerusalem and set himself up as God to be worshiped in place of God.

II Th 2:3-4
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
(KJV)

II Th 2:8-9
8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of His mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming:
9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
(KJV)

Was Apostle Paul pointing to some Mooney guy, some flesh man claiming to be Christ with that? No, because there's that idea of "all power and signs and lying wonders" again. Not only that, but that pseudo-Christ's destruction will only occur by the brightness of Christ's coming, i.e, our Lord Jesus' second coming. How else could a false one fool the majority of the world into believing he is God without that working of great signs and miracles on earth? Some obviously have been deceived by flesh men claiming to be Christ, yet they didn't have the power to work those great signs and wonders like this one will.

Another Scripture where Apostle Paul is pointing to this event is in 2 Corinthians 11, where he warned brethren to not be deceived, and to remain a chaste virgin to Christ Jesus. There he warned about the "another Jesus". Did you know there was "another Jesus" pointed out in God's Word? Yet that "another Jesus" of course is not about our true Lord Jesus Christ. It's about this pseudo-Christ (or false messiah) warning our Lord Jesus gave His disciples, and us upon whom the ends of this world have come. In that 2 Cor.11 chapter Paul says don't be surprised that Satan himself disguises himself as an angel of light, and his ministers as ministers of righteousness. Do you know what disguised means? That's that pseudo-Christ working, and his followers as "ministers of righteousness" disguising theirselves as Christ's ministers! So this is why there are many ministers today in Christ's Churches that really hate this Message? Yes, because those are no true ministers of righteousness; they are crept in unawares.

This is the future tribulation event the nations of today's world are being gathered together for. Will some of you not be deceived by that event because of reading this and then checking it out for yourself through your own Bible study with asking our Heavenly Father's help? I'd like to think so.

But if you don't care to check this out in The Scriptures for yourself, you can always find a multitude of men's doctrines you can fall back to, for there are many, and most of them are especially against this revelation from our Lord Jesus in His Word about the coming pseudo-Christ.

I am not sure how a Christian could doubt the word of God, maybe they are pseudo Christians, Christians only in name.
God is very dogmatic about his word, Revelation 22:18-19
In the span of things, I don't have a lot of time left on this earth for all this end time stuff to really get in gear but if I did,I would long for the sound of the first trumpet and my wish would to be changed in the wink of an eye.
I feel very sound in my belief of the gospel and really don't think about "End Times" too much. When I do, I look at the Temple being rebuilt as a sign that will perk up my ears and especially when the Anti- Christ first sits on the thrown of the temple.
Otherwise, I always say, more sooner than later a lot of us will die and those who are not prepared will meet their own Armageddon!
As long as unbelievers are still alive, there is a chance for glory, if they take it!
We need to spread the word!

Our Lord Jesus commanded His servants to be on watch regarding the events of the end. So who are those that try to tell us we don't have to watch which go directly against that commandment?

I believe the false Christs are already here and have been for a while.

Muslims don't claim to be Christians. Neither do Buddhists, nor Hindu, or even Atheists.
So who these false Christs?

There is a 'Jesus' who was a created man, who became 'a god'. This church believes there are other gods and you can become a god also.
There is a 'Jesus' who had sex with Mary Magdalene even though they weren't married.
There is a 'Jesus' who had a sinless mother, who had no siblings, who's grandparent were Anna and Joakim.
There is a 'Jesus' who wasn't resurrected in the flesh, only in the spirit.
There is a 'Jesus' who isn't God at all.
There is a 'Jesus' who was never a physical man, he was never crucified, he is just an abstract of good behavior.
There is a 'Jesus' who sinned.
There is a 'Jesus' who is simply a prophet, but not the Christ (messiah).

The churches that preach these Jesus' have many followers, in the tens of millions. But none of these Jesus' are in the Bible.

Those really represent the "many antichrists" John spoke of, and our Lord Jesus spoke of in Matthew 24:5.

Matt 24:5
5 For many shall come in My name, saying, "I am Christ"; and shall deceive many.
(KJV)

Many men through history have claimed to actually be our Lord Jesus Christ. Those are different than the idea Jesus covered further down in the Matt.24:23-26 verses about a specific 'pseudo-Christ' ("false Christs").

Look up that KJV phrase "false Christs" in the Greek and check the tense of the Matt.24:23-26 verses; our Lord Jesus was warning about a specific singular false Christ there, not many like the 5th verse.

A true worshipper of Jesus Christ would not fall for such; because we are being led in Spirit and in truth by the Holy Ghost. Amen. The only true Teacher. Amen.
Know ye not, that the kingdom of God is within you.
He is not in a house made of hands.
He cometh without observation. Amen.

When we see Him return; He will be coming in the clouds in power and glory and all His angels by His side.
This is not a happy, happy reunion the church made of hands talks about. Amen. This is massive destruction and tribulation this world has never seen. Nor will ever see again. Amen.
There will be so many dead; they will lay where they fall; this earth will stink of the stench of decaying flesh. The birds of the air will feast of the dead.
He even tells us He will be coming from the east. Amen
There is a rock coming that is so big; it will darken 1/3 of the daylight hours, as well as, 1/3 of the moonlight hours.
The reason it will darken the daylight and moonlight is because this giant is coming from the east and will cast a shadow upon us. It is between earth and the sun. Amen.
Many strong men will die from freight; while viewing this enormous mass that will hit the earth. Amen.
Let no man deceive you; the end is not yet. There are several things that has to happen yet. Amen.
However, things are progressing rapidly.
Are you ready for that great and terrible day of the Lord. Amen.
Praise God; I am. I hate it here.
I don't see why people want to save their lives to stay in this nasty place, when a mansion is waiting for those that have been doers of the Word, and not hearers only. Amen.

Lord have mercy on us all.
All praise, honor, and glory be to God. Amen.
