"But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. John 14:26
Friends are important. It can be lonely without them. Proverbs 27:17 says, “As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.” Your best friends help keep you focused, honest, and inspired. These traits are also found in the Holy Spirit, the least-discussed member of the Trinity. He takes up residence in the core of who you are.
Every temptation you face can be endured with the help of this friend. Jesus sent the Spirit as a personal companion to help you when you need help. Listen closely and learn what God wants from you. The Spirit can speak to your inner man and remind you of things God has already said. He’s the Companion, the One sent to walk beside you, the One who teaches, and the One who helps God’s character grow in your heart, mind, and soul.
Saying that the Holy Spirit and your conscience are the same thing doesn’t take into account all the things God’s Holy Spirit can do. He can and does remind you when you’re heading in the wrong direction. He can point you in the right direction. And, if allowed, He can teach, train, and transform you into the man God wants you to be.
