Friends, Brothers and Sisters,
Today as I was working thoughts began to form in my mind and they focused on how in today's world we seem to be on medication for everything that ails us. There is a pill or some form of medicine for anything you might have, could have or do have. We are quick to run to the doctor at a drop of a hat the second we feel something is wrong. Before I go any further no I am not saying not to go to a doctor and no i'm not saying to go off medicines you are on or anything like that. What this post is about however is something that is the answer to everything that ails us whether it be physical sicknesses, depression, financial problems, emotional and mental challenges, heartaches, grief, loss and lonliness...what if this amazing cure could be marketed in a bottle and sold...you can bet everyone would be running to get it and in a hurry. Well, my friends it is available to us and it's completely free...imagine we don't have to worry about having health insurance and there is no limit to how much of this cure you can take. Take as much as you want as often as you want and you can take it every day nonstop...what is this cure well, I'll tell you its our Lord Jesus Himself!
He promises to sustain you through the hard times in life and we all know life is not easy by any means and He says I will never leave you nor forsake you..imagine He is and will always be there whenever we need Him. He is the living water and bread of life with Him we will never ever go hungry and never ever thirst again. He says He is the God that heals, He is the God that mends the brokenhearted, He is our peace, comfort, our shelter, He is our help in every present trouble and beckons us to come to Him and lay our burdens at His feet and let Him carry the load. Along with all the medicines we take why not take our daily dose of the written word of our Lord Jesus. It will nourish and strengthen our souls just as food does for our bodies. We make appointments with doctors, dentists, even the hairdresser so why not make it a point to make an appointment with Jesus. Sit down and just spend time with Him..when you are tired and weary in more ways than one nothing helps or soothes like spending time with Jesus and in His word.
Isa.40:28-31 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, The Lord, the creator of the ends of the earth, never faints or is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
Matthew11:30 Come to Me,all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Talk My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.
