As i view the world through my 1st person view, i can see that evil lies even the most unlikely. Philosophy teaches us that we develop a "self" or, our own individual person which we can separate from the rest of the crowd. Combining a reading from Esphesians, we must make a permanent change from the ways of our past "self". We do this so that we may never return to such self-indulging ways and to encourage our continous growth in christ.
Verse 21-24 identify this issue and state: "Since you have heard about jesus and you have learned the truth that comes from him, throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the spirit renew your throught and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created ti be like God- truly righteous and holy"
We must seperate from the previous person who used to be in order to preserve the new person we have become. Much like the famous saying, "One bad apple ruins the whole bunch" Dispose of the bad fruit and grow new fruit and start a new. Start with christ...the way from the bottom to the top is very steep but the experience is one you should always keep.
God bless friends, be safe in christ
