A great trumpet will be blown just after the coming tribulation period of the Lord's wrath for the purpose of gathering the mortal elect of national Israel .... this gathering by His angels will include all of the believing national Israelites on the earth to Jerusalem from all directions
These will enter and populate His coming millennial kingdom as mortals [Isaiah 11:1-9] .... He will restore the kingdom to His "brethren" [kin], the surviving mortal national Israelites of the tribulation period [Acts 1:6]
This gathering is not a resurrection to immortality and is not the "rapture" of the church as the post-tribulation view teaches .... the immortalization of today's church of both those asleep and living at the time will occur just before the tribulation period begins [Revelation 3:10]
The great trumpet sounding just after the tribulation period is not the same as the "last trump" for the church which will sound for the Lord's gathering [He will do this Himself .... not His angels] and immortalizing believers of both those asleep and those living .... just before the tribulation period begins [1Corinthians 15:51-52; 1Thessalonians 4:13-18; 5:1-9; 2Thessalonians 2:1; Matthew 25:1-13; Revelation 3:10; 18:4]
Matthew 24 is a focus upon the believing "elect" of national Israel, not the church [the church of today will be with the Lord in heaven during the period] .... the time of "Jacob's trouble" during the 70th week decreed for the nation .... and there is no mention of the Lord's "harpazo" action for the church in the entire chapter
Some attempt to mix the church with national Israel and say that the Lord is done with Israel as an ethnic nation .... this is the rant of the replacement theology teacher and all of these push the post-tribulation or preteristic [historical] view of end time exegesis
Today's church is composed of mostly gentiles of the nations and a few national Israelites, but in matters of salvation only .... not by national identity ..... once the fullness of the gentiles is added, the Lord will then turn His attention to national Israel during His coming time of trial and judgment against an unbelieving world
A surviving mortal remnant part of national Israel will turn to Him during the period and He will restore the kingdom to them [Daniel 9:27 (the "many"); Zechariah 14:4-5; Matthew 24:15-16; Acts 1:6; Revelation 7:1-9; 12:6; 12:14-17; 14:1-7]
.... there will be a few gentiles of the nations who will also turn and believe during the same period and He will gather these mortals who survive for entrance into His kingdom on the earth
These believing gentiles are the ones who are called the "sheep" who will harbor national Israelites [the Lord's brethren] during the tribulation period as presented in Matthew 25:31-46
The following chapters speak of His scattering of national Israel for the nation's intransigence and unbelief; and then His gathering of "His brethren", the "elect" of a believing remnant part of national Israel just after the coming tribulation period
Ezekiel
5:10 Therefore the fathers shall eat the sons in the midst of thee, and the sons shall eat their fathers; and I will execute judgments in thee, and the whole remnant of thee will I scatter into all the winds.
5:11 Wherefore, as I live, saith the Lord GOD; Surely, because thou hast defiled my sanctuary with all thy detestable things, and with all thine abominations, therefore will I also diminish thee; neither shall mine eye spare, neither will I have any pity.
5:12 A third part of thee shall die with the pestilence, and with famine shall they be consumed in the midst of thee: and a third part shall fall by the sword round about thee; and I will scatter a third part into all the winds, and I will draw out a sword after them.
Isaiah
11:11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea
11:12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
27:13 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the great trumpet shall be blown, and they shall come which were ready to perish in the land of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, and shall worship the LORD in the holy mount at Jerusalem.
43:5 Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west;
43:6 I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth
Matthew
24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
Then He will gather those surviving mortals who are left of the nations
25:32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats
And He will say to the sheep:
25:40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren [the elect of Israel], ye have done it unto me.
