God told the people in the wilderness that if they would hearken diligently to His voice, to observe and do all His commands that He would make them the Head and not the tail. Here is the prophecy in Deuteronomy 28:13And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:”
First let’s see what it means to be of the Head and from above. Jesus said in John 8:23 And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.”
It is written that the Head of Christ is God, and also that the Head of the Church is Christ. So this is what it means to be of the Head. And when we are born again from above by Gods Holy Spirit, we are no longer under the control of the spirit of this world, which is the spirit of the Devil. Just as it is written, greater is He who is in us, than he who is in the world.
We who are born again of Gods Spirit are given the mind of Christ, and are no longer considered to be of this world, as Jesus shows here in John 17:14-16 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.”
When we are born again from above and given the mind of Christ, we are taught by Gods Spirit and given His wisdom, which the world cannot receive. The wisdom of God is from above, the wisdom of man is from below.
Paul covers this in 1 Corinthians 2 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.
2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.
4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:
7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.”
The meaning of the Head and the tail is also shown here in Isaiah 9:15 The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail.”
So those who are of the Head (God) speak the truth in Gods word by His Spirit of Truth. But those who are of the Devil speaks lies by his spirit.
This is why we see that it is the tail of the red dragon that’s draws away the third part of the stars (angels) of heaven here in
Revelation 12:4
And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.”
And here we see the spirits of devils going forth into the world to deceive by the power that is in their mouth and in their tails in
Revelation 9:19
For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt.”
The power these spirits were given is the power of death that is in the tongue to speak lies by the spirit of lies, whose father is the Devil.
So Gods prophets speak the words of Life by the power of God, and by the Spirit of Truth that is in them. And the false prophets speak lies by the spirit of lies that is in them, which is of the father of lies, the Devil.
It is written in
Proverbs 18:21
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
