The LORD gives his people strength. The LORD blesses them with peace. Psalm 29:11 NLT
God hasn’t broken a promise—ever. He says He’ll give you strength—He will. He says He’ll give you peace—accept it. The moment you believe Him is the moment you can take heart. This bold step realizes that God is absolutely dependable. It pulls the rug out from under every excuse you’ve ever had about waiting to follow, about stopping to consider and putting God off for now. You’ll improve your level of courage when you get rid of the excuses for failing to follow.
Men are just as insecure as anyone, but it looks a little different in us. You might be more inclined to stuff emotions, hide personal struggle, and use anger instead of seeking answers to hard questions.
Taking heart means believing that God will deliver on His promises. It’s a willingness to wait and the boldness to live life without second-guessing God. It recognizes struggles but also knows that there will be an end to the toil. It recognizes that worry has no place in the life of one who follows God. It remembers the promise maker is also the only perfect promise keeper.
Prayer: If my life is like a railway to You, God, then I have been off the rails far too often. Help me stay on track moving forward. Help me trust as You teach me to take heart.
