20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
Notice, a key point you might have an issue in your flesh, but the answer can come through your heart(not your blood pump)/spirit. That word health is translated as medicine, remedy, healing, cure. He said keep the word in your heart so the healing can come through your heart to your flesh. Sometimes people have a tendency to focus on what's happening with the body, but the scripture says in 2 Corinthians 4:17,18 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; 18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. Your spirit gives life to your flesh, that's why when it leaves the body ceases to function. So, the life comes from your spirit to your flesh, and the word of God is life. The life and health of the word can be transmitted to your body from your heart/spirit. Example, Abraham and Sarah God changed their names from Abram-high father to Abraham-father of a multitude and from Saria-my princess to Sarah-princess of nations because God promised them that their descendants would be as numerous as the stars. But, his body was dead and his wife's womb was dead so God gave them a word of life to keep in their heart and that life was transmitted to their body. Notice, Proverbs 15:30 says, 30 The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart: and a good report maketh the bones fat. So words you take in have an effect on your body, Jesus said take heed what you hear.
So, God says to keep his word in your heart so that the life and health of the word can be fed to your body. Notice, in Proverbs 18:14 AMPC The strong spirit of a man sustains him in bodily pain or trouble, but a weak and broken spirit who can raise up or bear? The spirit of a man will sustain him based on what he has fed his spirit with. So, what words are you taking into your spirit, that's what's important. What words are you exposing your heart to. Are you exposing your heart to words of healing or words of sickness. Notice, in Acts 14:7-10 7 And there they preached the gospel. 8 And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked: 9 The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, 10 Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked. The word brought healing to that man's body. Well, John 1:14 says, And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. If the word can become flesh the word can fix flesh. So, the victory is won in the spirit/heart. I think people don't know about the ability/power God has given the human spirit. Notice, in Proverbs 4:23 it say to guard your heart with all diligence, guard what words goes in it. Why is that important because it says, for out of it are the issues of life(some translations says, for out of it is the source of life.) You guard what goes in because as sure as something goes in something is going to come out and into your life.
Jesus did a lot of teaching about the heart of man, in Mark 4:20 Jesus teaches that the words you allow in your heart will bear fruit. It says in Mark 4:20 And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred. So, Jesus is teaching that words are seeds for in verse 14 of that same chapter he said, The sower soweth the word. And verse 15 shows that the seed is sown in the heart of man and back in verse 20 you clearly see that Jesus refers to the heart of man as ground. So, if words are seeds then they produce fruit, fruit represents a corresponding manifestation. Because, just like in the natural every seed produces after it's kind. So, words of healing that goes in the fruit of healing will come out in manifestation. Jesus taught that same principal in Mark 4:22 For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested. That word hid means inward and the word manifested means visible/clearly seen. So, the words you hide in your heart there will be something seen/manifested. Isn't that what happened with Abraham and Sarah and the man in Acts 14:7-10. Words went in their heart and healing came out in manifestation. If you think words are not important you have missed the whole point. Notice, in 1 Corinthians 3:6,7 speaking of words, I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. 7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. They are talking about the word they were preaching and teaching. The first time you hear something is planting and each time after that is watering and God gives the increase. If a seed keeps increasing what is going to happen, you will see the fruit of it.
I know because I experienced healing myself, when I had something attack my body I learned about Proverbs 4:20-23 and the word being medicine. I learned about the word being seed and my heart is as ground that was the first time I ever heard of anything like that, but decided to believe it and not just believe it, but also do it. I kept that word in my eyes and in my ears, I kept it in my mouth (Romans 10:8,10). I did like what God told Abraham to do, I kept saying what God said about me, "With Jesus stripes I am healed." I kept taking God's medicine, I kept planting and watering that seed and in time I reaped that fruit, my healing. The word I put on the inside I got manifested outside. God works with and through his word that you speak. Now, I may not know any other person's experience with their words, but I know my experience with my words. And I can tell you my experiences, when I was a child and even now I love bananas and what happened one time is when I ate one I got sick to my stomach terribly and from that time on I decided I could not eat bananas and whenever someone offered me something with bananas I was quick to tell them I can't eat them. Even as an adult I figured maybe that it had passed so I tried eating them and again I got sick to my stomach. But, then something happened when I was watching TV, I was watching this man teaching on the power of the tongue. And he said, "Some of you ate something one time and got sick and started telling people you can't eat it, if your words got you there then your words will get you out of it." It was like God was speaking right to me, I thought to myself that I had done that exact thing. So, what did I do I started speaking, "I can eat bananas" and in maybe a few months I heard a voice on the inside of me, "Go ahead and take one" because my father kept fruit in the house and when I did it had no ill effect on me. This is what I want you to see, the problem was never bananas, the problem was my words. The words I was sowing in my heart was the manifestation I got in my flesh. Now, if my words had that kind of effect on my body how much more God's word it's life and health to all your flesh.
It is not God's will that any should perish. And I wouldn't want to end this article without giving someone the opportunity to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. It's very easy just pray: Dear God- I know I have sinned and I now turn from them and I invite Jesus to come into my heart (Revelation 3:20). He died for my sins and you have raised him from the dead and I now confess Jesus is my Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9,10). I thank you for saving me, Amen
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name (John 1:12). 1 Timothy 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. Romans 5:8-10 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. [9] Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. [10] For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. 2 Peter 3:9 King James Version 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
