The open door to our past.

My brothers and sisters in Christ.I am today most lead to discuss something few will ever touch on,to many it has become most painful,and to still others,it is so hard to measure the good from the past from the bad of the past. Both come through the very same door.

As we all know mistakes are made from that same door. We never seem to focus much on the good,rather only the bad. The good that could come back through that open door,cannot measure itself high enough from the guilt we suffer in our minds from the bad. This is because we have not closed the door. Do we have to?? No Of course not,we never do have to,but the problem with leaving such a door open,is that the enemy uses the bad to hurt our forward progress in Jesus!

Some days are better then others,but all days remind us of the yet open door in our lives. Both bad and if we can think long enough,the good.God's Word in effect is to close one door,our old self,and open up a greater door,a door many are afraid to open,because they have not closed the past door.

Jesus provides us with the courage, and yes it does take great courage,to put off our old self. Why is it so hard?? Well speaking only for myself,I believe the reason that it is so hard,is because we find a need to go back to it. JUST IN CASE!! Kind of thing.

We say oh dear maybe I am getting to puffed up,or a date on the calender comes up, and our mind reminds of what bad thing was done on this day. Jesus forgave us!!! And even though we know this to be true,we still look to cause our self to stumble over something we now have no control of.Our past. But the devil lies in the weeds of the past door! And if the door remains open,he will take EVERY!!!! Opportunity to fire his darts from the past door into our walk to the new open door, Jesus has for us.The devil knows that if he can stop us from moving forward to that door of Love Jesus has for us,he can prevent us from reaching a greater love for the Man Jesus who has opened the door,just for each of us! Jesus calls,we hear him!!

We want to get to him!! BUT!! That open past door!! We look and see that most of us,are closer now to the door of Jesus,then we are to the past,but we look back,is the past door still in view? Do we have the time to run back close that door and run back to the place we now are at? Can we do this in time? My brother, sister!! YOU have done what you could!!( mark 14:8-9)

What I myself have learned through the wisdom of Holy Spirit,is this. It is to late to run back. It is bad to even look back. We know what will always be behind us. What we so need is to go through the door now opened by our loving Jesus as fast as our little legs can carry us! Now!! What lies through the open door!!!

When you step through HIS door! There is this. LOVE!! peace,and yes constant joy! Sure we will have tests,sure we will have problems,it rains behind this door as well as the other door,but the difference between the doors is the man who opened the door just for each of you!! And me! Words are heard!!( john 14:1,John 14:27,1 John 4:4-6, 1 peter 4:7-10!!!) And we find out something!!!!We did not have to close that door!! Jesus did it for us!A MOST LOVING!!! Jesus!! closed!!!! That horrible door!

But now!!! Grow in the grace!! and knowledge of our Lord and SAVIOR Jesus Christ!!! 2 peter 3:18) LOVE covers sin,and grace closes the door to our past behind us! And faith in great measure is provided because we not only now believe in the assurance hoped for,we see that which could not be seen in our past!!( Hebrews 11:1)

The example of those who are in faith are made know to us,we see how there door to there past got closed! Our examples!( Hebrews 11:3-40) Verse 39!!! And all these having gained approval through their faith,did NOT receive what was promised!! verse 40 BECAUSE!!!! God has provided something better FOR US!!!So that apart from us THEY would not be made perfect!

Perfection only comes through Jesus Christ! We become perfected through him, and by him, when we go through the door he opened for each of us!( 1 John 4:17-19) When we open the door of his love, and take his love to be our LOVE!! OUR FIRST LOVE!!

That which the first church in revelation so lost!!( rev 2:4-5) Jesus is not only the beginning and the end!! Jesus is OUR beginning and end as well! OUR LIFE scripture!! ( Rom 14:7-9) May this help us all to see why we never go back to the past,and why moving forward in Jesus,gives us the very peace,we so needed,and we so deserved!! because Jesus bought this for each of us,by his very own blood!! Praise God!!

Blessings My Brother in Jesus,

As I read what the Holy Spirit within you was speaking to each of us I was brought back to another story in the bible and of someone who after being told not to look back looked back and turned to a pillar of salt. In Genesis we see Lot and his family being told by the angels of God to hurry out of Sodom and Gomorrah and in verse 17 we see this command given to them all

Genesis19:17 So, it came to pass , when they had brought them outside, that he said, " Escape for your life! Do not look behind you nor stay anywhere in the plain. Escape to the mountains, lest you be destroyed."

Then later we see Lot's wife and as they are fleeing she did exactly what the angels said not to do which was what? she looked back and destruction followed.

Genesis19:26 But his wife looked back behind him, and she became as a pillar of salt.

So, many times we stop to look back over our shoulders, but I have come to understand from God and The Holy Spirit within me if we do this it will lead only to our destruction and nothing would please our enemy satan more than that. God has through His son Jesus Christ given us atonement for our mistakes and sins and delivered us from our own personal sodoms and gomorrahs...He has wiped the slate clean and it is no more! Let us as we have been redeemed and have been led out of destruction not look back unto the past, but look instead to Jesus who is leading us and will continue to lead us right up till the time we see Him face to face in heaven. We have by the grace of God escaped death and its snare now let us rejoice and go forward in victory in our Lord Jesus!

Remember brothers and sisters looking back will only lead to destruction...do not let satan steal from you what Jesus gave to you...a new hope and future...keep going forward and close that door to the past and to past mistakes then lock it and throw away the key forever, and do this because Jesus sees your past no more He sees you now as you are in Him a new creature and He sees your future with Him. Keep looking forward to that future and to the reward which awaits you in heaven!
