A fairly wealthy traveling salesman, went into a jewelery store, to look at the product. This man was faithfully in love with God and kept Jesus in his heart always. As he was looking, he saw a pearl. He asked the man behind the counter, if he could view it closer. Up close it was so beautiful, a soft misty colour, yet clear right through. In the middle, instead of a piece of grit, there was a small diamond. "Oh, it is so precious!" he said. "The most beautiful jewel I have ever seen. Please kind sir, hold on to this, until I sell off everything I own. On my honour, I will be quick about it. Please hold onto this pearl, until I return."
The humble man behind the counter, reached over and took the pearl, wrapped in a box and gave it to the salesman. "Take it", Jesus said. "Thank you for loving me, for I have always loved you."
p.s. I always ponder the parable of the pearl. This could have gone on the topic, "would you know Jesus?"
Amen: Pixie
