The return of Christ - please read!

I want as many opinions of this as possible so please reply!! sorry for posting twice dont know what happened.

Many conversations with my Christian friends and family have revolved around this subject, the returning of Christ almighty! Looking back over the last 10 or so years I can see a definite rise in crime such as robbery, murders, rape etc. In fact two people on my street have been jailed for paedophilia, someone on the corner gotten broke into and robbed a while back, and there have been about two or three more break ins in the last month in surrounding roads. That bought me and especially my dad to the possibility of the return of Christ VERY soon.

I'm talking 30 or 40 or 50 years from now! I can only guess, again looking back on increase in crime, and that increase isn't going to stop there - its just going to get larger. Even the natural world is falling to pieces with global warming and stuff, which I believe is inevitable and we as humans are destined to put up with. Perhaps it was part of Gods plan?

Anyway, I'm only 17. In 50 years ill be 67 - supposing I live that long anyway. Do you think its a possibility that I'm correct? Does anybody agree with me? If you disagree Id love to hear what you've got to say! This is such an interesting subject - our beloved Jesus coming back! I know hard times await, but an eternity of good times await after those bad times, and that's what I concentrate on.

Brother, the time of the return of Christ is something that no one knows for sure.

Please read Matthew 24 sometime, Jesus makes it clear when He will return, we will know the time, by the signs we see.

Matthew 24:36
36"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father

The important thing right now is to share the gospel the good news of Jesus to the many unsaved out there in the world. Jesus wants all to have eternal life and He will not come back until the time is right.

Jesus does not want any to perish but they will if we do not get to tell them about who Jesus is and what He did for us.

15He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. 16Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

I know I dont know the exact date of his return but that doesnt stop me from marvelling or thinking about it does it? Surely theres nothing wrong with that...

I also know that Jesus says he will come as a thief in the night. I get the impression people are taking this the wrong way...

The exhortation of scripture is that we are ready at all times for the return of Jesus.

Jesus taught of ten folks, 5 were wise and 5 were foolish. A picture of believers......the church. When the bridegroom returned the 5 foolish had allowed their lamps to run out of oil.

They missed the wedding supper....You can read the story in Matt ch 25

Nothing wrong with 'marveling' about His return, but our job is to spread the Gospel, the Good News. The only reason why the world is still turning is by GOD's grace, that none should persih. His LOVE is why the world is still turning. Wondering, guessing or marveling will not do anything really otherwise.

Christ will return when He returns. No one knows anything. We do know our job is to spread the good news, that's basically it.

Nothing wrong with 'marveling' about His return, but our job is to spread the Gospel, the Good News.

That is precisely what I said previously on here we are meant to be sharing the good news, the Gospel, to all those still in darkness as Jesus wants none to perish. We have to be doing what He wants us to do.

Another thing I forgot to mention is this simple thing:

While we know that Scripture says clearly that none know the time or the hour of Christ's return, it would make no sense for us to guess it. I know we can be anxious and even troubled by today's events but we need to spend time preaching, nothing else is more important than this. We need to bear good fruit and be a light to others no matter what.

I also marvel and think about Jesus return.
Though it is not for us to know the time. But we must be ready:
Matt 24:44 "Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh."

And we watch:
Mark 13:33 "Take heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is"
Mark 13:35 "Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh..."
Mark 13:37 "And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch."
(Look how many time Jesus tell us to watch in Mark 13).

I often wonder what God waiting for and then I read that beautiful parable in Matthew about the field not being ready yet for harvest.
That the tares and the wheat must grow fully together.
Matt 13:30 "Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bing them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn."

2 Peter 3:15 "And account that the long suffering of our Lord IS salvation"
That should shed light about the wait till our Lord's return. We must spread the Gospel and save as many souls as possible.

Finally, in Revelation 14:15 it comes full circle to when the time has come to reap, when the harvest of the earth is ripe.
I just love reading those two chapters together (Matt 13:30 and Rev. 14). I hope and wait on the Lord our God when we can finally go home. Praise be to Jesus Christ.
