THE SURPASSING KNOWLEDGE OF JESUS
Phillipians 3:8-10
8 yes, indeed, and I count all things to be loss, because of the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, because of whom of the all things I suffered loss, and do count them to be refuse, that Christ I may gain, and be found in him,
9 not having my righteousness, which [is] of law, but that which [is] through faith of Christ -- the righteousness that is of God by the faith,
10 to know him, and the power of his rising again, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being conformed to his death,
Knowledge is the fact or condition of knowing something with familiarity gained through experience or association .Adam the first man is a product of divine knowledge.The knowledge of God deposited in him through divine creation makes him to know and appreciate the garden of eden the first human abode.since creation humanity through centuries have desire to know more about nature and themselves.this quest of knowledge has led to the creation of institutions where knowledge is acquired and passed on from generation to generation.Apostle paul who has greatly benefited from human knowlegde calls it refuse.He looked down on human knowledge because of the surpassing knowledge of jesus christ which rendered human knowledge of no value.he so much desired to know the personality of jesus,the resurrected power of jesus and the suffering of jesus .
KNOWING THE PERSONALITY OF JESUS
Who is jesus ? the subject of the personslity of jesus has drawn a lot of controversy right from the time of his birth to the time of his death.Satan the enemy of humanity have poisoned the heart of people concerning the personality of jesus through satanic doctrines cooked up from the pit of hell.Any definition of jesus outside the bible is a mere satanic deception to lure people away from life to destruction.biblically speaking jesus is life if you do not have him you are dead jesus is light if you do not have him you are living in darkness jesus is the pathway to heaven if you do not have him you are in your express way to hell.
KNOWING HIS RESSURECTION POWER
Jesus is the first born from the dead He died and rose again from death without the help of anybody.jesus achieve this miraculous feat because all powers in heaven and on earth belongs to him.He has power over death. Death could not hold him perpetually in the grave.This truth has angered satan to the extent of polluting the mind of humanity with cooked up stories to eraze this very truth from the heart of all men but he failed woefully .jesus is life if you accept him,he will infuse and quicken your dead mortal body with his imperishable life this is why believers do not die they sleep to wake up into glory at the end time.
KNOWING HIS SUFFERING
Jesus is the sacrficial lamb that permanently took away sin by suffering and bearing unspeakable pain and agony on the cross .Remission for sin can only be done by blood and the blood of animals offers no permanent remission for sin neither religious practices of cleaning the outer part of the body .These practices are mere deception fabricated to hold men bound in slavery to sin. The only permanent way out of sin is the finished work of jesus on the cross of calvary where jesus shed his blood for permanent remission from sin .Knowing jesus personality, resurrection power and suffering transcend mere knowledge of him you need to accept jesus to your life this invitation is optional the decision is yours to take and if you have accepted him continue to enjoy the finished work of jesus perpetually
