The thief on the left loved Jesus Christ and the thief on the right complained, so the thief on the left went to heaven, so therefore did the thief on the right go to heaven as well or did he not?

This means that the devotee goes to heaven and this does not mean that a non-devotee does not go to hell. A non-devotee goes to heaven or hell based on his merits and sins. A non-devotee does not go to hell even if he scolds God! God loves every soul since He is the divine Father of all souls. A non-devotee goes to hell only for his sins that affected good people in this world. Hence, the non-devotee is not affected by his non-devotion and therefore, his way based on the non-devotion is not mentioned.

So I wonder to whom Matthew 27:44 is referring?
Mark 15:32
Let the Christ, the King of Israel, descend now from the cross, so that we may see and believe!" And even those who were crucified with Him berated Him.

Matthew 27:44
New American Standard Bible
The robbers who had been crucified with Him were also insulting Him with the same words.

You are right "rstrats"

Treasury of Scripture
"The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth".

Jesus said:
New American Standard Bible
“If you love Me, You Will Keep My commandments.

American Standard Version
Let him that stole Steal No More: but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing that is good, that he may have whereof to give to him that hath need.

1 John 5 ASV
"Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is begotten of God: and whosoever loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. Hereby we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and do his commandments. For This Is The Love Of God, >>>That We Keep His Commandments: And His Commandments Are Not Grievous"

A Thief does not Love JESUS. Someone said: If you will Steal you will Lie, If you would Lie You will STEAL. But we do Know "where sin abound grace will Abound Much more"

New King James Version
Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more,

New American Standard Bible
The Law came in so that the offense would increase; but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more,
