The Two Different Beasts Of Revelation And Deadly Wound

I see some struggle with the Revelation 'beast' concept, and I think mainly because of some of the doctrines that have been taught about it apart from the actual written Scripture. If one doesn't properly understand there's actually 2 different beast concepts written, it will be easy to not understand about the deadly wound.

In Rev.13:1 the 1st beast with ten horns, ten crowns, and seven heads rises up out of the "sea". It is a kingdom beast. Our Lord Jesus further defines it later in Rev.17 with ten kings representing the ten horns, and the waters representing peoples, tongues, multitudes, and nations. At Rev.13:2 He links the concept of the animal symbols used in the Book of Daniel to represent pagan kingdoms of past history. That's a clue to show this 1st beast is about a kingdom and linking prophecy in the Book of Daniel for the very end of this world.

In Rev.13:1-3 the phrase "his heads" is used, but it is as a possessive pronoun to show that 1st beast kingdom belongs to the dragon; i.e., it's "his" kingdom and thus one of the 1st beast kingdom's seven heads receives a deadly wound. So don't let that KJV phrase "his heads" in those verses confuse you. It's about a kingdom beast there. The beast king idea comes later.

At Rev.13:11 a new beast concept is given, that of an individual called "another beast". So that's a 2nd beast, not the same one as the kingdom beast of Rev.13:1-2. Since Rev.13:12 even reveals how that person will exercise all the power of the "first beast before him", we know these two beast concepts are to be kept separate.

In that same Rev.13:12 verse, we are then told about "... the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed." Rev.13:3 told us one of "his heads" (seven kingdom beast heads) suffered a deadly wound. That reveals the 'deadly wound' is upon one of the seven heads of the 1st beast, the kingdom beast.

Rev.13:12 reveals the coming 2nd beast, an entity called the "another beast", has something to do with the healing of the deadly wound upon one of the seven heads of the 1st beast kingdom.

At this time that 1st beast kingdom is yet to manifest in this world (but I believe it is near). How can we easily know it has yet to manifest? Simply because the ten horns, ten crowns, and seven heads involve ten king rulers all reigning at the same "hour" as that the 2nd beast (or beast king) that shows up to reign over it all (as per Rev.17).

You are right about the First Beast of Revelation 13 being a kingdom beast and the second beast is not a kingdom beast. The second beast is an office, not an individual. But the first beast, the kingdom or empire beast, which is seen in Revelation 13: 2 has the traits of the leopard, bear and lion, the first three beast empires of Daniel 7: 4-6. Revelation 3 is complex and should never be interpreted without grounding that interpretation on other scripture. That is, one should never use the traditions of men, like dispensationalism, or amillennialism to interpret the chapter.

In Daniel 7:7 the fourth beast empire is seen, which is said to be dreadful, terrible and strong. Then Daniel 7: 8 has the Little Horn kingdom, called one of the heads of the first beast whose deadly wound was healed in Revelation 13: 3 The second beast in Revelation 13: 12 causes people to worship or honor this head of the first beast whose deadly wound was healed.

If the four beast empires of Daniel 7 are seen to be the same, for some reason, as those of Daniel 2, that is, Babylonian, Persian, Greek and Roman empires, then this interpretation severely diminishes the grounding of the first beast empire on Daniel 7. But there is no good reason to claim that the four beast empires of Daniel 7 are the same pre-Cross empires as in Daniel 2. Why prophecy teachers have taught that the empires of Daniel 7 are the same as in Daniel 2, I have no idea.

If one insists that the four empires in Daniel 7 are the Babylonian, Persian, Greek and Roman empires, all beginning before the Cross, then the only way you can tie them into the first beast of Revelation 13 is to say that the post-Cross kingdoms are parallel to them and have some of the traits of these pre-Cross kingdoms. In fact there are some similarities between the Babylonian and British empires, between Persia and the Russian Soviet Union, between Greece and Nazi Germany and between Rome and the U.S.of A.

The First Kingdom Beast of Revelation 13 has been here for a few centuries in the lion or British empire, the Soviet Union, or bear lasted from 1917 to 1991,Nazi Germany from 1933 to 1945 and the U.S.is still the major super power., The Little Horn nation of Israel came up in 1948.

I agree. The specific Scripture Rev.13:2 is referring to from the Book of Daniel includes Daniel 2 where the image of the beast parts are written, with Dan.2:34-35 revealing how all those previous beast kingdoms will manifest under the final 5th beast of feet of ten toes of iron mixed with clay, and will all fall together when the "stone" (Christ) comes to smite it upon its feet.

A lot of confusion in Daniel about the beast kingdoms comes from not realizing the beast image statue Neb saw in his dream actually has 5 parts, not 4. The feet of ten toes of iron mixed with clay is the 5th one, the one of Rev.13:1. Because we are shown in Dan.2:34-35 all... 5 pieces will fall together when Christ strikes the final one upon its feet of ten toes, that means a revival of all the previous beast kingdoms within the 5th one, basically the final one encompassing the whole earth, all nations. That just so happens to be exactly what today's world globalism and one world government idea is about.
