Hello @PloughBoy,

* The first reference you gave was the record of Paul's experience at Melita, when the viper fastened itself on his hand, and he shook it off into the fire, and was unhurt (Acts 28:5). The second (Mark 16:18) was spoken by the risen Lord, to the remaining eleven disciples, in which He commissioned them, and assured them of His protection, and that even if they were to take up serpents (like Paul), or drink any deadly thing, they would not be hurt. In (Psalm 91:13), we are told that He that dwells in the secret place of The Most High will be under His protection: e.g., 'thou shalt tread upon the adder ... ... '. (This Psalm tells us of the rest provided, 'in', and, 'for', the Messiah).

* In (Psalm 37:34) we are urged to, 'wait on the Lord, and keep His way', not fret about evildoers, but trust in the Lord, delight ourselves in Him, and commit our way to Him. Rest in the Lord, fret not, and cease from anger. Again in (Psalm 27:14), we are urged t,o 'Wait on the Lord, be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart.' While in (Psalm 52:5-6) David refers to Doeg the Edomite who dealt treacherously with him, warning him that God would destroy him, and the righteous would see and be in awe, and laugh at his demise.

* In (Psalm 91:8) again, those who abide in the secret place of the Most High, shall behold the reward of the wicked and be in awe. Then ( Proverbs 29:16) tells us of the increase in transgression there is when the wicked increase, yet the righteous shall see their fall: and finally in (Isaiah 40:30-31) we have the promise that they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.

* Thank you, @PloughBoy, for this is intended to encourage as well as warn.

Hello again, @PloughBoy,

I have heard of those who have taken the words, 'taking up serpents', to themselves, and have looked for and handled vipers in order to test that. Yet, this was spoken to the eleven remaining disciples in Mark's gospel that you have quoted, who were chosen and equipped, as Apostles of the Lord, for the function that they were to fulfil in His Name. It is not for general application, right?

Thank you
In Christ Jesus

Subject Heading:- 'The viper had a deadly bite and he died, so let the vipers bite, they are the ones who will die in the fire, it is called the 2nd death and you will not.'

Hello yet again, @PloughBoy,

I can's seem to get away from this thread. :) I see that in your subject heading you are referring to 'vipers' figuratively. I can only assume that the Vipers you refer to are the unbelieving. Yes?

Lets us do it this way..This is how I have always done it. When The Spirit of the Lord Comes over Me, ,he gives me details in Words. and I am Amazed. And the word of God comes in detail Stories about the The Text of "Holy Scripture" from Genesis to Revelation" in a flash. So quick I have to stop and write it down even in car on a highway, I stop and Jot it down. and then when it is time , The story comes to my Mind and I write it down, this has been happening for over 40 years. So do not think about it just read it , and keep moving. and let God our Father do the rest. And keep it moving. And let the Bible speak to you, For the Bible is "The Word of GOD" and Jesus is" The Word of GOD' and "The Word of GOD" spoke all Creation into Existence!

Let it talk to you and not the TEXT at hand.

Remember "All Things are new" and not viewed like a human creature.

King James Bible
While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Our Food comes from Heaven, and Not like the desert manna that fail down From the sky.

We have food to eat , they know nothing of!

Many do not understand this, But you remember this, In the Gospels. The disciples did not have "The Holy Spirit" . it was not in them, They Had not been "Born of God" Or empowered By "The Parakletos" For Jesus gave them "Authority" through His "Deity" When GOD gives A COMMAND" like He Gave them to Go out. All CREATION recognize and Heard and obeyed, That Command! HE IS "GOD" And The Dirt Obeys Him>

This was a one time Mission: It Was A command, Just like God gave the "Donkey A Command to talk" to Balaam.

Jesus Sends Out the Seventy-Two {Pentecost had not yet come} Jesus has to die and to go back and send him.
Luke 10 KJV

1After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come. 2Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. 3Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves. 4Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way. 5And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house. 6And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again. 7And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house. 8And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you: 9And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you. 10But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say, 11Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you. 12But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.

13Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. 14But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you. 15And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell.

16He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me

[Don't argue with these people, .let God Your Father, show you in time.]

Matthew 12:34
You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks.

Luke 3:7
Then John said to the crowds coming out to be baptized by him, "You brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?

Matthew 23:14
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees,[ and you ] hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.

King James Bible Matthew 23:33
Ye Serpents, ye generation of Vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?

Hebrews 10:29
Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

And GOD is not going to let this pass
Hebrew 10: BSB
…28Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29How much more severely do you think one deserves to be punished who has trampled on the Son of God, profaned the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and insulted the Spirit of grace? 30For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine; I will repay,” and again, “The Lord Will Judge His People.”…
