It’s sad so many on these forums are paying attention to the political scene, things like Ukraine war, China/Russia threat but not paying attention to what is happening in their own countries.
If a foreign nation rises against a nation that worships God, it’s almost always because God is removing or had removed His protection. And it’s always due to rampant and unrepentant sin. If the West is weakening it’s because God is bringing judgment for sin, and He always raises a nation that doesn’t know Him to judge His own. Israel’s history of foreign invasion by Babylon, Rome etc testifies to that.
When God decided to save Lot and destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, it was because not even a single righteous was found there other than Lot. If even a few righteous lived there, God would spare those cities.
So why are Christians spending their time hating on “evil nations” when they should be repenting like Nineveh? If your nation is godly, God is protecting it, what harm can other “evil” nations do? None. If it has turned away from God, then how will hating on other nations stop God’s judgment?
Blaming your nation’s demise on another “evil” nation is a sign that you don’t know God. God has never allowed a nation truly living under His care to be destroyed, regardless of how weak it is. When Israel was under God’s grace, none of the surrounding pagan nations stronger than Israel can do anything. But that can only happen if Israel obeys His law and acknowledges Him. When Israel’s leaders corrupted the nation, judgment followed and pagan invasion was decreed. Israel had to serve Babylon for 70 years because of its sin.
Even if you end up in a situation like Lot, God will spare you amidst the destruction if you live a godly life. Daniel and his fellows were spared even when Israel was invaded.
Learn from Israel’s history instead of harping your future on the destruction of enemies. That is the way of those who don’t have faith in God, the One who has sovereignty over pagan nations too.
