In Revelation, the end of the world starts with the breaking of the seven seals, the first one is a "conquorer" on a white horse with a crown and a bow. In traditional church teaching and various conspiracies, that is the Antichrist being unleashed, he rises to power in a relatively peaceful way and gains dominion over the whole world, hence the crown and the bow. I admit that I used to believe that too without any doubt, but lately I listened to a sermon from a messianic congregation with a groundbreaking message on this topic, and it totally changed my view. So here I just wanna share it with you guys, that this rider on the white horse is NOT the Antichrist, but our Lord and Savior, JESUS CHRIST, Yeshua HaMashiach!
The origin of the text is Gen. 49:22-26, Jacob's blessing to Joseph:
“Joseph is a fruitful bough,
A fruitful bough by a well;
His branches run over the wall.
The archers have bitterly grieved him,
Shot at him and hated him.
But his bow remained in strength,
And the arms of his hands were made strong
By the hands of the Mighty God of Jacob
(From there is the Shepherd, the Stone of Israel),
By the God of your father who will help you,
And by the Almighty who will bless you
With blessings of heaven above,
Blessings of the deep that lies beneath,
Blessings of the breasts and of the womb.
The blessings of your father
Have excelled the blessings of my ancestors,
Up to the utmost bound of the everlasting hills.
They shall be on the head of Joseph,
And on the crown of the head of him who was separate from his brothers.
So there you can see, Joseph was given a bow and a crown, and blessed with abundance. He triumphed over all those other archers, hence "conquering and to conquer". You may ask, isn't Jesus the lion of Judah? What does that have to do with Joseph? Well, Jesus only comes as the Son of David in His SECOND coming, while in His first coming, he was the Son of Joseph, a suffering servant! Jospeh the patriarch was Jacob's favorite son, but he was stolen and sold into Egypt as a slave. Typologically, Joseph is THE most Christ-like figure among all OT heroes. Jesus is still scheduled to return at the end in chapter 19, that much is for sure, but at the beginning OF THE END is the SIGN of His return, that is his LAST CALLING for the world to repent and come to him! Because make no mistake, the next three horsemen are still WAR, FAMINE and DEATH, as Satan is on the move to KILL, STEAL and DESTROY!
Also, there's another hint that could validate this message, that the white horse is Jesus Christ not Antichrist. You may have heard of this term "chiasm", a literary device in which a sequence of ideas is presented and then repeated in reverse order. In this structure, the second half is like a mirror image of the first half, and right in the middle is the climax. For example, "he who exalts himself will be humbled, he who humbles himself will be exalted." This structure is very commonly used in the bible, as far as I know, the entire books of Matthew, Romans and Revelation are written in this pattern.
Therefore, based on this structure, you can see the second coming of Jesus on a white horse, along with His riders of angelic hosts in Rev. 19, actually has a counterpart in the early chapters, and that is none other than the Four Horsemen! The second coming is the real grand finale, while the Four Horsemen were the manufactured COUNTERFEIT version! And to be more specific, notice that in Rev. 19:19, the Beast was gathering his army to make war against Jesus, Jesus on the white horse in Rev. 6:2 is the counterpart of that! According to the good pastor of that sermon, that is the king's wedding invitation!
And that has seriously troubled me, even frightened me. Because as I mentioned, this is gonna be a series a MANUFACTURED crises and disaster, it's the wrath of Satan, the preparation for the Antichrist to establish his kingdom, as opposed to the real unadulterated wrath of God and the establishment of His millennial kingdom! And it all started with the outbreak in that Wuhan lab! So I've been thinking, is this seal ALREADY open? Is it?
