Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, He hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. Acts 2:33

“Therefore, exalted at the right hand of God, having received the promise of the Holy Ghost with the Father, He has poured out this which you see and hear.” You see Peter’s logic. The discussion of the Holy Ghost filling the disciples is demonstrative proof that Christ has satisfied the Father with His atonement, actually been received and ratified in heaven, crowned at the right hand of God Mediatorial King, received the Holy Ghost and sent Him down His own Revelator and Successor whom He had promised to send down.

Acts 2:33. He hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.— It is said, John 7:39 that the Holy Ghost was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. The Spirit, in his extraordinary and superabundant influences, was reserved as the great donative after Christ's triumph over principalities and powers. When he was ascended up on high, he sent down the greatest gift that ever was bestowed upon mankind, except himself. By this Christ discovered the greatness of his purchase, the height of his glory, the exercise of his power, the certainty of his resurrection and ascension, and the care he took of his church: for in what could he illustrate his character more, than by letting them see that he made good his last promise, of sending them another Comforter, who should be with them in all their undertakings, to direct them in their doubts, and to plead their cause against all opposition? What still enhanced this gift was, that it was not to continue with them only for a short time, but to abide with them and all his faithful saints for ever. It was to remain with them as a pledge of his love, as a testimony of his truth, as an earnest of his favour now, and of the future inheritance of all the faithful in heaven. See Ephesians 4:8; Ephesians 4:32.

Acts 2:33 -

It is interesting that when Jesus was raised from the dead he did not go directly to his Father, but roamed this earth for 40 days, and nights. It was not until the Holy Spirit was poured out on the day Pentecost that gave proof that Jesus was now set down on his Father right hand.

Greetings,

there are those 40 days and 40 nights again.

It was not until the Holy Spirit was poured out on the day Pentecost that gave proof that Jesus was now set down on his Father right hand.

Yes, proof for the Disciples to whom He had spoken; given His Word, and also proof that the Scriptures had been fulfilled for all to see, which were spoken of by the Prophets, which also served to bear witness to those who were set apart as Apostles and those who heard them and followed that they were according to the Word of God in and at His time by His Right Hand.

God's Word does not return to Him void and in Jesus we see and testify this to be true.
By this we (and all before us and those who will come after us) overcome, by the Blood of the Lamb and the Word (of) our Testimony, God sent forth His Word which in due time was manifested, Grace revealing unto man that the Word of the Lord endureth forever and is living and sharper than any two edged sword; Grace giving sight to the blind, a Light shining in the Darkness
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. Genesis 1:3

Praise the LORD
