Ok, this is how this works?
In Luke, we read?

In Luke 10:11-16 (NKJV) He who hears you hears Me, he who rejects you rejects Me, and he who rejects Me rejects Him who sent Me."

He who hears you hears Me, meaning Christ I give attention to what He is going to say through me

he who rejects you, meaning rejecting what about to say to you!

rejects Me, meaning as I say what is given to me to you, you reject Christ through me

he who rejects Me rejects Him who sent Me." meaning rejecting God of Israel

The problem
Condemnation
this is getting to the point!

For if by one man's offense death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
Therefore as by the offense of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one, the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
Moreover, the law entered, that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so, might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 5:17-21 (KJV)

And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I come.
1 Cor 11:34 (KJV)

How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?
For if the ministration of condemnation is glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.
2 Cor 3:8-9 (KJV)

Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he falls into the condemnation of the devil.
1 Tim 3:6 (KJV)

My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.
For in many things we offend all. If any man offends not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.
James 3:1-2 (KJV)

But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.
Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.
Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he has committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
James 5:12-16 (KJV)

For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.
And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
Jude 1:4-7 (KJV)

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows' houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater condemnation.
Matt 23:14 (NKJV)

"Assuredly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter;
but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation"--
because they said, "He has an unclean spirit."
Mark 3:28-30 (NKJV)

Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth--those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.
I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.
"If I bear witness of Myself, My witness is not true.
There is another who bears witness of Me, and I know that the witness which He witnesses of Me are true.
You have sent to John, and he has borne witness to the truth.
Yet I do not receive testimony from man, but I say these things that you may be saved.
He was the burning and shining lamp, and you were willing for a time to rejoice in his light.
John 5:28-35 (NKJV)

The question is do you understand, yes or no, do you have any questions?

' There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus,
who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus
hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh,
God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin,
condemned sin in the flesh:
That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us,
who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.'

John 3:16

So then, none of you can be My disciple who does not give up all his own possessions. :pensive:

Please take note: The Scripture did not say:

So then, none of you can be. [ A Child of GOD] who does not give up all his own possessions.

Why did I just said that because Many will say or think a “True Disciple of Christ” and “A Child of GOD” are the same. But they could be.

But a Child of God can be a Disciple Too.

For this, is not a “Paradox”

These are 2 different names. That should have 2 different meanings and are not considered a “Antonym’s”.

But can be “eisegesis” into The Text. And found Suitable. As a “Antonym”.

I am sorry to offend you, but plainly and adulterated I was Commenting your display of “Agape” or even our reasonable service. “My Bad” and it will never happen again.:pensive:

New King James Version
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

New American Standard Bible
Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.

NASB 1995
Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.

NASB 1977
I urge you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.

New American Standard Bible
And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

Once again, I am sorry and I know I should know better because. My Theological thinking is not in favor with many.

My bad :pensive:

No reply needed.

Can yoou show me a scripture for "none of you can be My disciple who does not give up all his own possessions"

Can yoou show me a scripture for "none of you can be My disciple who does not give up all his own possessions"
1st. We have to establish what the English word “Disciple” means to you to me and all of the English speaking world, and the ancient Biblical time it was used. Because. There are different meaning of the Word, “Disciple”. Ok. Because me and you might not be on the same page on the definition in the Text in question that is presenting the word “Cannot be my Disciple “ is The Text in question.

Take note:
Luke 14:27
New American Standard Bible
Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.

Luke 14: 33
New King James Version
So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.

New American Standard Bible
So then, none of you can be My disciple who does not give up all his own possessions.

—-——————

1….One must know the Biblical Definition of The Ancient biblical text word “Disciple” in the text it is presented.

2. One most know what the English language term “Cannot” definition is.

Luke 14 “ASV”
25Now [q]large crowds were goingalong with Him, and He turned and said to them, 26“If anyone comesto Me and does not [r]hate his own father, mother, wife, children, brothers, sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be My disciple.27Whoever does not carry his owncross and come after Me cannot be My disciple. 28For which one of you, when he wants to build a tower, does not first sit down and calculate the cost, to see if he hasenough to complete it?29Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who are watching it will begin to ridicule him, 30saying, ‘This personbegan to build, and was not able to finish!’ 31Or what king, when he sets out to meet another king in battle, will not first sit down and consider whether he is strongenough with ten thousand men to face the one coming against him with twenty thousand?32Otherwise, while the other is stillfar away, he sends a delegationand requests terms of peace. 33So then, none of you can be My disciple who does not give up all his possessions.”

The word term you “cannot”, means you have Not The “Ability” to be my Disciple.

Example:
You cannot fly like a bird.

Because, you have Not “The Ability” to fly like a bird.
No matter how hard and fast you flap your arms you ain’t going to fly!:eyes:

So do not jump, you cannot Fly!:eyes:

Disciple:
In the ancient world, a disciple is a follower or adherent of a teacher. Discipleship is not the same as being a student in the modern sense. A disciple in the ancient biblical world actively imitated both the life and teaching of the master.

The term "disciple" represents the Koine Greek word mathētḗs (μαθητής), which generally means "one who engages in learning through instruction from another, pupil, apprentice" or in religious contexts such as the Bible, "one who is rather constantly associated with someone who has a pedagogical reputation or a ..

And The Definitions of The Word Disciple goes on and on and on Throughout The Secular and Religious world of Definitions, just pick you like, what tingle your ears.

It doesn’t matter anymore,

The Book of Judges adds Fuel to The “Biblical Motif”

“each man did that was wise or right in his own eyes”.

Sorry I could not explain myself in shorter terms. But what ever you decide I have no problem with it.

You can be a believer and not a Disciple in Christ and you can be both. But The Disciple is a more stricter path that demands everything of your life, “LORD” we have forsaken all”.:pensive:

Thanks. That was great, though I do think the NASB got that one incorrect. They most likely borrowed an obscure edited rendition from either Vaticanus or Sinaiticus, which may even disagree with each other (as they do in so many places). But as for your definition of "disciple" I think it was right on the money. However I do agree that all else in one's life must be secondary but that as a Disciple, YES, it would be ALL IN. I just was looking for your source.
