Acts 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
Psalm 125:1 Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people both now and forevermore.
Psalm 91:15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble: I will deliver him, and honor him.
God has been working with me on such a literal basis lately. I am sure many here can share the same testimony. These three scriptures have been on my mind, how true they are. If we just call on God, making that leap of faith in Him, He helps. His help is almost visible. Literal.
I would like to share a personal testimony that compels me to post this. This topic is meant for discussion and this is why I am not posting it in testimonials. I am convinced that those who hold to an extremer cessationist view are a dying few .
After Covid the company I worked for dismissed and retrenched 60% of all its staff, except for those in finance. I am a financial manager. The finance director was convinced he could allocate all to new positions. The issue for me however was that this finance director did not like my 'ex - boss' and hence did not like the finance team that worked for him and as such did not like me at all. There was very bad blood between the departments. With his restructuring plan I would report to someone who previously reported to me. I started looking for a job immediately. I had a three month window and was having zero luck. I was confused as usually I find a job quite quick. God helps me. But He was not helping me. Nobody was hiring me. It came to the point where I had one day left. If I did not resign 'tomorrow close of business' I would work in the new position at the company. My notice period was a full calendar month. That evening on my way home from work I pulled into a petrol station and just sat in my car. I spoke to God for ten minutes. Explained that I was going to resign with no job. After covid, we were living on a month to month basis. I explained to God that ''I could not bear what was coming''. I was quite stressed. I am not someone who easily stresses. I get out the car and go buy a doughnut at the shop. When I sit back down, my phone rings. A recruitment agent called me. I have never contacted this specific recruiter. She got my name from her colleague.....five years ago she had overheard me telling her colleague that I am in property and finance. She explained that my name just popped into her head. It was quite strange. She managed to set up an interview for me the next day. I went, got the new job the same day, resigned from old position and did not need to work a second in the restructured space. Thank you Lord!!!!!! What a literal miracle!!
After this, rather literal miracle, I honestly feel like I can walk on water. God has taken my faith from strong to 'perfect'. My faith in God's presence, help and strength is on par with my faith in gravity. Now, when I speak to someone going through hard times, I am 100% confident in saying, ''Trust God, speak to Him sincerely and He will reply and help you''. It is a given. Psalm 91:15 says clearly 'honor Him, call upon Him' and He will answer, He will deliver.
