Scripture Reading — John 3:1-15

He came to Jesus at night. . . .

— John 3:2

Many people have wondered and speculated about why Nicodemus went to Jesus at night. Nicodemus was a Pharisee and a member of the ruling religious council, which was often opposed to Jesus. Was Nicodemus afraid of being seen by other council members? Did he go at night because Jesus would be less busy and have time for an in-depth conversation? Did John include that detail because it fit with his emphasis on light and darkness in his account of Jesus’ life and work?

Whatever the reason, the fact that Nicodemus went to Jesus with questions and that Jesus engaged him in conversation has always intrigued me. Nicodemus had questions about spiritual matters, and Jesus was interested in discussing those with him, even at night.

This encounter prompts me to ask, “Are we ready and willing to come to Jesus with our questions about faith?” We all have questions, and Jesus is always ready to hear them.

What are your questions about faith? Did you know Jesus cares about you and wants you to have “life to the full” (John 10:10)? You can ask him questions anytime in prayer, and Jesus’ followers can help with finding answers in the Bible and providing a community that supports you in faith. If you know some followers of Jesus, ask them for help with your questions. (You can also connect with ReFrame Ministries for more information).

Jesus, thank you for engaging with our questions and for providing people who can support and talk with us. Amen.

I would offer.

Nicodemus a Pharisee as were some other disciples like Peter, some were of John the Baptist

Their pagan foundation "out of sight out of mind"(no invisible Holy Father, Christ) God calls fools.

Nicodemus was part of those who made Jesus the Son of man into a circus seal. . Do a trick or no treat. Work a miracle then when see it with our own eve we will believe for a twinkle of the eye.

Nicodemus previous as lying sign and wonder seeker was lovingly commanded by the Spirit of Christ working in Jesus the Son of man. The powerful gospel word . . . . . .marvel not but rather believe prophecy

John 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

Many even today look for signs (lying) to wonder after...... Like the Fatima sign of the Sun blinding or Padre Pio. I have a hole in my hand. . . many lying signs to wonder, wonder, wonder after as if true prophecy

We have it the whole or perfect (sola scriptura) no need to wonder, wonder, marvel, wonder rather than believe.

Nicodemus hid by the Father was led to Jesus at night. If the Pharisees saw Nick it was over.

Christ sent them a strong delusion so they could keep believing the lie.

2 Thessalonians2:9;Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,;And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.;And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
