I'm in limbo here... Jesus said what God asked him to say by just saying it. Many listened while some heard him & walked away because that would have meant change for what they were comfortable doing & living. Now correct me if I'm wrong here but Jesus said that if you fornicate (among other sins) you won't get into heaven. Did he backpeddle or apologize for saying these thing, EVER? Did he regret that what he said might have come off as a bit harsh? Did he think to himself "maybe I could have worded it a little better so that not to scare people into thinking I'm strict".

I'm seeing that Gods hand chosen personally picked disciples these days are doing all we can to ease God into someone's life without having that person "feel" attacked, offended or uncomfortable. An atheist can blurt anything out & people just say "oh, their atheist no biggy". A Mormon can knock on your door & say whatever their book says & people again just say "ahhh, ya know that's what they do & how they are". But Christians 'should' tread lightly, VERY lightly. Don't make a rustle or any waves because it might hurt "feelings" if you do. Just tell them Jesus loves them & hug them & squeeze them & tell them they are loved. Doesn't matter what their doing, just tell them they are loved by God. Ok, then what? Do we wait a week a month a year before we turn the page in our Bible? How long do we stay on John 3:16? When is a good time to mention Matthew 22:14 or Revelations 3:16 what about 2 Peter 2: 20-22.

I ask so that I can learn more from other Christians that love God & walk with him with understanding.

Praise God, Mindy

Jesus never regretted anything he said, because he received from his Father the words he was to say, and "how" to say them.

John 12:49 I don't speak on My own authority. The Father who sent Me has commanded Me what to say and how to say it. (NLT)

Not only is what we say very very important, but also in how we say it. This can only be given to us by the Holy Spirit. You can not smile and giggle when correcting our children, or they will think your just being funny, and not listen to anything. :) This is why Jesus always taught with power and authority because he spoke only the words of his Father, and in how it was to be spoken to it's hearer's.

What scripture from Jesus you quoting on fornication? I know Paul mentions many sins in 1 Cor 6:9-13, but if you read verses 1-8 it is clear that he is referring to the mortal side of such sins. IE Not once off adultery or stealing a little from rich to live. Rather stealing from orphans. We must always remember how Jesus qualified Matt 5:28 with Matt 5:32.

People are easily offended by us for two reasons. 1. They know that what we are saying is true. Every person with a working brain knows what is right and wrong. Otherwise mankind would not be accountable for their sins. and 2. Jesus in us. A Christian's has an aura that lights up the room. Fact. Those in sin want the darkness.

I don't think we need to ever mention verses on sins as I said, people know them. We just need to help them grasp why God says such. God does not want to see us hurt or hurting others. Fornication should not affect God at all. He is 2 trillion light years away. He is not involved in the relationship. Yet it does....why...? Clearly He is hurt if we are hurt. Clearly He is involved out of love for us. He doesn't have to be. People have to realize this. His laws are for our own protection.

You need less then a minute to raise an impeccable logic argument for marriage over fornication.

"Mortal side"? Where exactly is this is the Bible? I think the Bible is very clear on fornication - all verses below are KJV.

Ezek 16:26; Thou hast also committed fornication with the Egyptians thy neighbours, great of flesh; and hast increased thy whoredoms, to provoke me to anger.
Matt 5:32; But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
Matt 19:9; And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.
John 8:41; Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.
Acts 15:20; But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.
Acts 15:29; That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.
Acts 21:25; As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written and concluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication.
Rom 1:29; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
1 Cor 5:1; It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife.
1 Cor 6:13; Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.
1 Cor 6:18; Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
1 Cor 7:2; Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
1 Cor 10:8; Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
2 Cor 12:21; And lest, when I come again, my God will humble me among you, and that I shall bewail many which have sinned already, and have not repented of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed.
Gal 5:19; Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
Eph 5:3; But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
Col 3:5; Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
1 Thes 4:3; For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:
Jude 1:7; Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
Rev 2:14; But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.
Rev 2:20; Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.
Rev 9:21; Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.
Rev 19:2; For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great *****, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.

There are many other related passages, such as...

Exod 22:16; And if a man entice a maid that is not betrothed, and lie with her, he shall surely endow her to be his wife.
Deut 22:28; If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found;
Deut 22:29; Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.

Sex should ONLY be between a husband and wife. I can give a few more if the verses above aren't enough.

Thank you BAC, I'm blunt, bold & an in your face Christian NOT because of what I want to say but because God instills it in me. This world (NOT our world) gets offended so easily now. We can't say this, aren't allowed to dislike that we should lower our voice, worry about "feelings". I don't understand that. I've not said anything other than what Jesus himself has already spoken. The volume or capitol letters doesn't add to or take away from Gods already spoken word yet some will use that as an excuse to go back to what they were doing just to stay within their 'comfortable' sinful lives. "Keep doing what you've always done & get what you have always gotten". Yet they want change. I don't think its change they want but someone to agree with their reason for sinning. The world is doing that now. Homosexuality is a "right" now, having affairs isn't a big deal, smoking marijuana is legal & look where we're at... look where that has gotten us. Man made hell on earth. The ONLY reason God doesn't flood the earth again & start over is because HE PROMISED he wouldn't. He's even created the rainbow as a reminder for that promise. It's sad that the promise rainbow has been made into a satanic gay pride logo. Satan takes EVERYTHING God has for good & turns it into something evil. What do we as Jesus Lovers do... nothing much because we'll be called homophobic, haters, heartless WHY, because when we repeat scripture its telling them that how they live, think & what they accept is WRONG. I don't like to learn I'm wrong but when I do I'm relieved because I have learned & I will no longer spread false information. I didn't make the rules, I'm just spreading them so nobody else agrees with false information.

Thanks again BAC - Mindy

There is no debate that fornication is a sin BAC. Based on your reply to my post I can only assume you are not grasping that every sin has a range of evil to it.

Once off fornication with someone you don't love < fornication with a single devout and loyal partner > ongoing fornication with multiple partners.

Read carefully what Paul is saying in 1 Cor 6:1-8. If the world can dish out differing punishments for the same type of evil, why can't we. We should be able to better discern intentions. IE Judge properly. Paul will not be impressed with anyone reading 1 Cor 6:9-13 without their discerning hats on. IE Paul is not talking about an orphan that steals a loaf of bread not being in heaven, rather someone stealing a loaf of bread from an orphan.

As I said to LordKnows, we cannot read Matt 5:28 (thought of adultery = sin) without Matt 5:32 (actual adultery / sexual immorality = grounds for divorce, not just thought).

What do we as Jesus Lovers do... nothing much because we'll be called homophobic, haters, heartless
If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small. Proverbs 24:10

I quite often write letters and emails to our local daily newspapers and to local radio stations. Most are not printed nor read out. But I persist.
Someone in the editorial room is reading my material. Now and then I get my Christian message through and it is published or mentioned.
I talk straight to people I meet about Christian standards and morals based on obedience to Jesus and the Scriptures.

We speak against the sinful things of the world when we preach the gospel to people. We encourage people to examine themselves against the Word and to seek
salvation in Jesus and the gospel. One must not be fazed by abuse and name calling by the unGodly. You simply move on and talk to the next person.
Pray for Jesus to send people to you so that you can do the work of an evangelist.
As for the modern mainstream Churches who have betrayed the gospel and Jesus don't get too close lest you get singed. The epistles are full warnings about
false preachers with their false doctrines. The spirit of antiChrist has been around from the beginning.
Be an evangelist, defend the truth, preach the gospel, honour your testimony, walk in the Spirit.
At the Revival Fellowship we get new people to embrace water baptism [full immersion] and to be Spirit-filled [with the Bible evidence of praying in a new tongue]
then through our own walk and the Word and especially through the Holy Spirit we work with the Lord to change that convert for the better.
As they grow in understanding of righteousness and in submitting/conforming to their Lord Jesus they renounce their former sins and lifestyles.
But this can only be achieved by preaching against sin, and the need to repent. The Word is the reed or measuring stick.

As Jesus Lovers we are compelled to speak out against evil and sin, and to warn unbelievers and the unGodly that they are in great peril of judgment.
Whether they want to hear this or not is not really my problem. And if they make it such then we will join countless other witnesses who have suffered
throughout history for the gospel and our Lord.

Acts 4:
18 And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.
19 But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.
20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.
Acts 5:
39 But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.
40 And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
41 And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.
42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

Not everybody preaches a soft warm fuzzy gospel of acceptance
