Trial by Fire
My spirit is being drawn through the fire.
My suffering seems great, for these things that I must witness are a heavy burden for my spirit.
The temptation of self pity fills every void of my existence,
As though I, was the only one with trials to face in this world.
I stand alone in my anguish; I have turned away from the temple.
I suffer for days on end, forgetting the one who comforts me.
I have become so disappointed with myself and with the Lord.
The temptations attack me on all fronts, causing me to doubt all that I have learned.
I have strayed from the chosen path, I have closed my eyes, I have fallen asleep, and darkness surrounds me.
As a mother, who travails in giving birth,
So too do I suffer to rid my spirit of these temptations.
The storm clouds have gathered, I cannot see where I came from or where I am going to.
The seas of my life are in the midst of a great storm; I must learn to raise my spirit above it and find shelter.
To take hold of myself; and rise up from the earth, and
allow calm to rest on my spirit.
To believe, that I am not weak, for the Lord is with me in all that I do.
I must see the truth that all people go through these times.
And understand that this is the time the
Lord has chosen for me to refine the spirit.
If I have faith and believe, he will lift my burden.
My Spirit must be tried; if I don't use my spirit I have no way to know my faith.
Its one thing to say I believe and another to know I believe.
The Lord's wisdom will see me through these times.
The Lord has guided me on the path, that I might see the things that need to be overcome.
As Jesus, I do not suffer in vain, but I suffer to become a new creature, to shed the things of this world.
I suffer to learn and give my faith to others that they too, will see what I have learned.
These things I give to you, that you will not waiver when your spirit is tried.
Behold the workings of your Father in your Life, and do not despair, for God is with you and will not forsake you.
