I often wonder about why things happen. I got saved in Nov'00 and have had so many problems ever since. Before that my life seemed to sail along...a couple of bumps on the way, but nothing that I couldn't recover from. Now it is always something. My ex-husb is SO DIFFICULT. I am always stressed out now, because of all the confrontation.

If I had made different decisions earlier in life, would everthing be so much easier? Am I being punished by God? Then I ponder the book of Job. Is that what happens to everybody? The just and unjust receive trials??
What do you all think?

Hello sister Patti. God bless you. I have provided some information with Scripture to speak for itself. GOD loves you and wants to bless you. The devil is a lion on the prowl to devour when he sees believers come to Christ and act obedient to GOD as well. The devil hates that very much.

God wants to bless you, not hurt you or punish you.

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

John 3:17
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

John 3:18
Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.

The devil wants to hurt all believers in Christ. That is why you face certain troubles. Seek GOD's strength and wisdom.

1 Peter 5:7-9
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

Protect yourself against the devil. Please meditate on this Scripture. This is very important.

Ephesians 6:10-18
10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

Thank You Chad---

These words speak to my heart. I have heard them before, but had forgotten.

therefore take no thought saying what shall we eat or what shall we drink or wherewithal shall we be clothed for your heavenly father knoweth that ye have need of all things mastt 6:31-32

Be faithful always. God has a plan for all of our lives. God never punishes his children for their past sins, as he sent his son to die for our sins on the cross. We have become a new creation, everything made new!
2 Corinthians 5:17
If anyone belongs to Christ, there begins a new creation. The old things have gone: everything is made new!
God bless

God doesn't punsish us for sins but every thing we do has a consequence, sin has bad consequence's following God has good one's.

Welcome to the ranks sister. It's true, the closer you come to God the more the devil is infuriated and frustrated. Know this, God always provides. I do not have a knowledge of scripture from which to qoute, but in my own life there is nothing that He has not done for me. He has given me new life, Love, and hope. Your faith in God will transform your relationship with Him. Trust Him and believe in Jesus Christ.
