And I heard another from the altar saying, "Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous [are] Your judgments." Revelation 16:7
Humans, especially those living in the West, tend to be very democratic in their thinking--sometimes overly so. For example, when public opinion polls show a certain position, people tend to take that position as absolute truth.
But a preponderance of people believing something as incontrovertible fact or truth doesn't always make it true. Human opinion, even when it's held by a large majority, can be--and very often is--wrong. But God's opinions? Well, since opinion has been defined as a position or judgment formed about something that isn't necessarily based on absolute fact or knowledge, then God doesn't hold "opinions" but bases His judgments on His absolutely perfect knowledge of what is right and just.
The apostle Paul stated it well when he wrote, "Indeed, let God be true but every man a liar." (Romans 3:4 NKJV).
You can't always trust in the judgments of fallen humanity, even when it involves something most everyone believes. People can be wrong about things, and they can be wrong in overwhelming numbers. That's simply because no man, no matter how well educated, possesses perfect knowledge of all things. But God's judgments are 100 percent true and just, 100 percent of the time.
Prayer: Lord God, I'm so grateful that I can always trust in the truth of everything You say in Your Word.
