Oh the year I've dreaded is rapidly approaching on April the 5th...the big 3-0! It can't be happening yet...I feel 18 still. What do you do when you're 30? What do you wear? Are you too old to sing loudly behind the steering wheel of your car to 80s & 90s hits? What about doing the sprinkler...is that not cool any more? Do you have to be called "mam" by younger store/restaurant employees? How do you wear your hair? Oh my goodness what if you lose your hair? Do you go to bed earlier? Are you suppose to watch the news with your coffee in the morning? So many things are changing!! I am totally freaking out! I think I'll just turn 29 again. Anyone that's already turned 30 have any advice?????
29 FOR LIFE!!!!

Greetings sister @mere5

Don't let all those worldly concerns you mention overtake you
Look to the Lord and His word....and rejoice in His love for you

And He said unto His disciples, Therefore I say unto you,
Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.
The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.
Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?
And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?
If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?
Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?
And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

Luke 12:22-32

Being 55, I can safely tell you that you better get a cane or a walker. ;) Everything starts to sag more, and I mean everything, more so on a woman. The great thing is that you have to depend on God more and your body less. Its all good, it happens to us all, and it brings wisdom in dealing with life. If you have taken care of your health then it might be 50 before the body starts to decline, but either way, no big deal.

Geee thanks! You know now that you mention it I did wake up the other morning and as I got out of bed my knees buckled so I might be getting that cane pretty soon! Haha! The wisdom that comes with getting older I definitely look forward to. In just the past 5 years my wisdom has improved tremendously (my memory is a different story:confused:)!

A dear elderly Christian lady I knew said 'why would women ever want to colour their hair, when the Lord provides us with a change of hair colour in our latter years'
She was such a Christ centred lady and shone with Christ....her hair was a glorious silver grey.
True beauty from within

And why do earthly looks matter when we have eternity ahead

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see Him as He is.
1 John 3:2

Growing older is it quite bad thing. As long as you live a meaningful and purposeful life.

Gray hair is a crown of splendor; it is attained in the way of righteousness. Proverbs‬ ‭16‬:‭31‬

Well if it is not sounding cool to you to say you are 30 then simply do as I did at work once.
You are 29 for the second time. Of course I had a much bigger number then second time but it was fun and watching people try and figure out the math was pretty cool too because they always seemed to forget to add the first time i was 29. lol
God has alotted us 120 years on this earth........ Sister........you have got a long way to go yet.
Blessings

Fear not young lady. It is only the "outward" man that is getting older. The "inward" man is being renewed day by day!!! Your heart is getting renewed and refreshed every single day by the Spirit of God. At 62 years I am so excited what the Lord has done to me and in me. I am about to jump out of my skin as the Lord has strengthen me like the eagle!!! I am more alive now then I was at 30....see what you have to look forward to. :)

2Co 4:15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.
2Co 4:16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

Actually young'un, If you walk with the Lord faithfully, aging becomes a lot of fun. I just turned 40 for the 28th time a week ago. Having a blast! So will you

Wait until people give you the "senior citizen" discount without asking for it, that is when you start getting concerned. You have long long long way to go before that!

LOL They did that to me in my early fifties. I took it.
