Well anyone into U2 at all??

Im one of those crazied fans you see cheering at concerts, but i want to know other opions on them.I know they are not a christian band, even though they do have some religous theme's in alot of there songs.

BIG BIG U2 FAN here. Unfortunately I think they are way too secular most of the time, would LOVE IT if they would sing for God, for real... and I think they need to do more CCM. But I sure love 'em.

U2 are great and one of the reasons why is because they've been great friends from the beginning...they would take a bullet for each other (for those of you who don't know the story, they were warned that if they performed a certain song in a concert, someone would shoot bono on stage. they still performed the song, and bono performed it with his eyes closed all the way through, dreading the shot...at the end he opened his eyes to find the bassist standing in front of him blocking the view of bono...) that kind of friendship is priceless
great music too hehe isn't bono a christian??

Yes, they are Christian, all of them. Very well said about their close bonds of friendship. They even had to learn their instruments together as they started up; they actually didn't know how to play. heh. Their sound is so distinctive and Vox's voice is all over the place, including on tracks of music, a genre of dance music called "Techno", which I happen to love, too. Enya's voice is all over the place, too, if you like her. Celtic pop/rock genre mixing over into Techno... have you heard that? It's pretty.

In Christ

Funny you bring U2 up!

Yeah, I also admit to be a sort-of U2 fan.

OK, Bono, a bit of a potty-mouth you got there!!!!!

But anyway, I've heard Bono's faith statement. He has it sort-of straight. And I say this with a hesitation. Because in his "I still have'nt found what I'm look'in for" song he says, "all colors lead into one" implying there is more than one way to Heaven---unless I misunderstood what he meant. Like I have no clue if the band really has got salvation down---but they have an idea. No doubt though, they are a funny band. I read an article on them----oh so funny. Sometimes the whole band can be at odds with each other---but they seem to be there for each other regardless.

:rose: That is wild that you asked this question God's country, because I just was asking a few friends of mine the same questhiion and about his political motives. I would think that Bono would have some faith and I ask anyone else, do you know what he speaks out for on a humanitarian level? My friend and I were talking about non politicals, that envolve themselves in humanitarian issues, with no political agenda. Could Bona be like this? Wish that in this crazy world of "celebrity status", more people could use their power to help shape the world. It really is sad, the amount of money all these superstars are getting and how few, part with very much. It must hurt God deeply to see such a greedy world. Bless us Father, with the freedom of Your love. Amen:rose:

i don't know about that one but thats not up to us to say that there christians tats with them and god!!!!

Bono is a Christian, In his book he talks openly about Jesus and the Bible, he doesn't say he is perfect but he has made a big impression on me, someone I can identify with

I do pray that one day u2 will stand for Jesus they will declare in every
concert of them that Jesus is our great God and write song for Him alone.so
that the Glory of our living GOD will be reveal in their life.

That would be amazing

Matthew 10:33
But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father
who is in heaven.

Now I know U2 is a Christian believing band. But I do not see any sign at all that they publicly (in their music) give Jesus Christ praise and Glory to GOD as any true Christ loving believer would.

This is what bothers me and confuses me with U2 because they are "believers" and they are a phenomenal band, great writers - extremely talented and unbroken (ever) for over 20+ years of being U2 as a band where the "secular" fall apart shortly within their popular highs, then come crumbling down.

However, the are a great band. The rest is between them and GOD. It doesn't hurt to pray that GOD will convict them with the Holy Spirit to be 100% Christians in their music and no less. To give GOD glory at concerts by praising Him in Jesus Christ.

Celebrity or no celebrity...

Philippians 2:9-11

9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
