Typically, if someone asks if the Bible is offensive to you, the right answer (assuming that you are offended) is "No, you are." It's a matter of English usage, now that you bring up the perennial English, because most people I know locally, had they meant it the way I just described, would have said, "No, it's just you." That response is too ambiguous, "It's just you." can be either a letting of the person off the hook, or an indication that you like to fight.
