Unchoke the Word?

Dear all,

There has been so many things going in my life and amidst of all - God is faithful and He has protected me countless times.
And I'm very Thankful to Him.

Recently... well over several months, I guess I've let things in that have choked the Word and the moment I'm wondering whether I can unchoke the Word or really get back up again slowly.

I'm not sure if anyone would be in the same situation.

I really want to dive into the Word but I tend to get desperate about it in a way of fear and I start to skim read it than really take in what it says. And even if I read it slowly - I have to read several times to register in my head what I just read.

I think its been a worry as to how much of the Word is choked through the trials I've been through over few months.
Sometimes I watch GODtv and the things that were familiar to me before seems almost new to me in some way!

so basically I'm asking - can I unchoke the Word?

The Word was not choked. The trials that beset you simply accomplished their goal in causing you to be distracted. Anything that keeps us from seeking Christ needs to be put down. It is indeed in the midst of these trials that seeking Him and putting Him first will cause your faith to blossom.
Simply determine in your heart to seek Him and fellowship with Him and to let nothing interrupt that.
He is certainly waiting patiently and lovingly, His arms open wide. His forgiveness is sure for He knew every mistake you would ever make and yet He sent His Son for you anyway- that is love.
God is and has all we need:
Press into the Word.
Press into worship.
Press into prayer.
Go ahead He is ready.

Hearing the Word of God among thorns is the cause of many to have the Word choked in them, so that they cannot bring no fruits to completion. It is the cares of this life, and the pleasures of this life, and the deceitfulness of trusting in riches (Luke 8:14) that does choke the Word of God, (which by the way is the will of God), to grow in a person´s life. We see in (Hebrews 11:24-26) an illustration by Moses of how to keep ourselves from planting God´s Word among thorns in our life. Verse 24 is the cares of this life; Verse 25 is the pleasures of this life; and Verse 26 is the deceitfulness of trusting in riches. Of course among thorns is but one of three ways that many will hear the Word and bring forth no fruits, and is the cause of many´s downfall.

Yes, definitely you can unchoke the Word by yielding yourself to the guidance of the Holy Spirit who guides, teaches, rebukes and comforts...

Ephesians 4:30
And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

Matthew 13:22
He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.

Mark 4:19
And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

Yes you can through christ

Hello, Ive read your post , in ref to being choked out. You know it is only through the strength of Christ power that we`re able to over come many different trials that come before us, this one I`v also had to challenge it. Yes you must challenge it, and the only way of over coming is by calling on Christ to help you. Scripiture through prayer, ask Him for His help, He is faithful to help you. Here are some verses that may help, GOD bless you and keep on praying , it is the beginning of all answers:

1.Be subject therefore unto God; but resist the devil, and he will flee from you
James 4:7 (ASV)
2.Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye doubleminded.
James 4:8 (ASV)
3. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness
James 4:9 (ASV)
<!--EndFragment-->4. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall exalt you.
James 4:10 (ASV)

Hay now the Lord put theses verses on my heart for you and when I read them they seemed kinda hard, but the more that I thought about it, the more it make right, anyhow, blessing by the handfull pour out on you.

Hello Prereeta

I have been aware of you here at T.J. for a while ......and your precious support to the cause of 'talkjesus'.....I thank you sincerely in Jesus Name for visiting.....and the contribution you make.

Regarding your question....I would suggest you seek His face......reading the gospel of John perhaps.........and prayer. Ask Jesus to fill you with the Holy Spirit....again.... if this has already happened.

2 Cor 3: 6 Paul warns that the letter killeth.....the Spirit alone giveth life........

I have to break from study and reading...yes even the bible...I take time out for a Holy Ghost encounter with brothers I know and trust. Such encounter refreshes my spirit and soul and gives me the desire to push ahead....in Jesus.

A fresh drink of the Holy Spirit........Reading Acts they were filled Acts 2: 4 .......and filled again...and again. We cannot manage at all without such fillings with the Holy Spirit.

Without such...I/we become......just religeous

thats what happened to me yesterday. I went to the park for some space and as I lay there in the sun I was praying about not serving God enough, not reading his Word enough and the feelings of guilt and disappointment I had when I heard him say to me...'quiet now, just receive from Me' and just was refilled by his Spirit. Don't be anxious Pre, God knows your heart and your desire to know him and love him, and will bless you accordingly.
