Under President Trump, Will God Bless America Again?

There is a verse frequently quoted in these days: "...if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land." (2Ch 7:14 NRSVue)

How does that apply to our day? That verse is addressed to Israel, God's Old Covenant people. It does not exactly equate to the New Covenant conditions. God's people today come from all nations, not just Israel; but when addressed to God's people we can apply it to the church in the USA and pray that God will bring true Holy Spirit revival to the church. As Paul said of the Jews "not all those descended from Israel are Israelites", in this day not all those in the church are truly in the body of Christ.

When I see the conservative religious people supporting Trump in this day, and I see the overwhelming presence of heretics among those religious Trump supporters; will God bless America again? We can pray for a true Holy Spirit revival, but the outlook at present is pretty dim. Trump may bring a more prosperous and safe country, but does that translate into a nation based on God's word that God will bless?

Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, [and] giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this [is] good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:1-4 NKJV

Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same. Romans 13:1-3 NKJV

These verses go hand in hand and are for the believers. As is what you quoted from the OT.

With the Love of Christ Jesus.

I hope the believers do look to God for their well-being today, rather than looking to a man, a man I did vote for all three times. I strongly believe in the separation of Church and State; as did my Baptist forefathers, especially in Virginia as the Baptist preachers were jailed for preaching the gospel. The government was Church of England, and operating as the established Church in control of the outward expressions of corporate worship.

I do believe that the expression of "Separation of Church and State" is barely understood, and how it came into being in our days much less during the time of this country's founding.
As long as the state does not establish a "church" like China does, and allows the free exercise thereof, we who adhere to Scripture and following Jesus, should be okay...

Trump is certainly not a good example of a saint. But so far his actions show him to be a more moral leader than the previous adminstration. Thats good. But I wasnt real happy with how he says he is going to bring peace. He may prefer peace, but there is alot of people who are filled with hate, and want war. You have to stand up to those who want to oppress you or attack you, perhaps not militarily, but stand up to the bad actions with some kind of punitive action. Have to wait and see.
