God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

19 Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.
20 Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:
21 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:
22 He revealeth the (deep and secret things:) (He knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.)
23 I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the (king's matter)

PSALM 160
1 Great and holy is Yahweh,
the holiest of the holy ones from generation to generation.
2 Glory goes before him,
and following him is the rush of many waters.
3 Loving-kindness and truth surround his face;
truth and judgment and righteousness are the pedestal of his throne.
(4 Separating light from deep darkness,
he established the dawn by the knowledge of his heart.)
5 When all his messengers had seen this, they sang aloud,
for he showed to them what they had not known.
6 He crowns the hills with fruit,
perfect food for every living being.
7 Blessed is he who has made the earth by his power,
who has established the world by his wisdom.
8 By his understanding he stretched out the heavens,
and brought forth [the wind] from his [storehouses].
9 He made [lightning bolts for the] rain,
and raised mist [from] the end [of the earth].

Subject heading:- 'Until Christ be formed in you.'

Hi Twistie, :)

I was looking for a past discussion in the archives, and found this entry of yours, which had received no response. It was the subject heading that attracted me, 'Until Christ be formed in you', quoted from Galatians 4:19:- 'My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you'. This is what Paul said to the Galatians, for he had doubts about them (4:20), for there were some among them who still desired to be under the law. There were those among them who sought to bring them into this bondage, but Paul urged them to, 'Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.' Later he said to them,

'For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty;
only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh,
but by love serve one another.
For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this;
Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
But if ye bite and devour one another,
take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.'
(Gal 5:13-15)

Even today, after all this time, there are still some who would seek to bring us into this bondage, we read their entries with sadness, for they have not yet seen the glory of the truth concerning our position in Christ. For we are COMPLETE in Him, because of His all-sufficient sacrifice on our behalf.

Praise His Holy Name!

'This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh:
and these are contrary the one to the other:
so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these;
Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like:
of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past,
that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
(Gal 5:16-26)

Hello again, @Twistie,

This reminds me of the verse in Romans 8, 'For whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.' in verse 29. When I looked it up, another verse with the word, 'conformed', came up, which is a good one to consider in the light of this, in Romans 12:2:- 'And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.' (which I see you have also quoted in your OP). :love:

Yes, your subject heading promotes a great deal of thought, and I am surprised that it was not responded to when you first entered it. If only to rejoice in the truth of it, that Christ is being formed in us. This is the Holy Spirit's work isn't it? by means of the word of God being worked in to us, and by it's working out in our life and witness, to the glory of God.

Thank you, Twistie,
In Christ Jesus
Chris
