I am starting this thread to see if anyone is having any viewing issues with Talk Jesus such as:

- needing to scroll horizontally
- missing sections of site?
- others? Please explain.

Before you reply, read the faq first. Please don't make it hard on me by being lazy or ignorant by refusing to read the faq and replying with a question that is already answered in the faq. I will simply ignore your reply if you do that. Be considerate. Thank you.

Read this carefully before replying to this thread!

If you DO have any viewing issues as the above mentioned, reply with all the information below.

1. Your operating system (Windows XP, 2000, 2003? MAC OS? etc)
2. Your monitor resolution
3. clear exlanation of what problem(s) you may be having
4. Browser in use (Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox, Opera, etc)?
5. Any side toolbars like Google Desktop or such?
6. Firewall(s) in use. Antivirus software in use. Spyware software in use. Provide all your using, complete list.

FIRST try these steps/suggestions prior to replying:

1. Talk Jesus is best viewed at 1024x768 minimum resolution or higher. However, 800x600 is still fine but cramped.
2. Clear your browser's cookies, cache. Close it, re-open it.
3. Run the software below to optimize your system
4. Check your browser security settings and general settings.
5. If you use side bars on your browser and a low monitor resolution such as 800x600 - close all sidebars and you will not need to scroll horizontally OR increase your resolution to the next higher mode such as 1024x768.

Software to run to optimize / clean your system for best performance:
(click the names' links)

1. CCleaner (free)
2. S&D Spybot (free)
3. Ad-Aware (free)
4. Tune Up Utilties 2006 (30 day trial)
5. Spyware Blaster (free)
6. AVG Anti-Virus (free)
7. Macromedia flash plugin (free) required to use live chat

Recommended browsers to try:

1. Avant Browser (free) (my browser, very nice featured - look for yourself)
2. Firefox (free)
3. Opera (free)
4. InternetExplorer (best view, but general functions)

I say Avant is the best option. Fast, popup/ad blocker, tabbed browsing, many skins and plugin options. Go and check it out. You'd like it. Its free also. One of the best rated browsers on CNET

To make things easier for you and I, just copy (highlight the below text starting at the "*" line and ending in the "*" line) and paste, adding your information per line.

Ok, forgot one need. What pages, where on Talk Jesus are you experiencing this problem?

I was able to duplicate it on member list in Firefox so far on 800x600 and post view pages (such as what you view now).

Fixed: "add to favorites" was cramped and messed up that particular area making it two lines. It is now fixed and "add to favorites" shortened to fit properly in a single line.

Problem solved. The verse of the day in the header was causing this. Unfortunately I had to remove it. I'll think of something else.

Chad, thank you. Just tried it and it's working fine. :thumbs_up :girl_hug:
May I ask something else? Why is the time zone set at 3.52 when it's 7.52? (WET) do I need to fix anything?
I like the google map. We need to give it a plug - get some names on it. :sun:

Go to your control panel and click on edit options. Adjust the time zone there.

This is great!
The major view problems appear to be solved, as of this evening!
Praise God!
But Explorer is definitely not the cure (at least with my Macintosh)!

For the record:

Operating System: Mac OS 10.3.9
Browser & Version: Explorer 5.2
Monitor Resolution: 1024 x 786
Toolbars & Sidebars: standard top address bar; no sidebars
Firewalls: OS X (built-in auto)
AntiVirus Software: none; OS 10.3.9 Disk Utility/ First Aid app run periodically for optimizing

Explanation of problem(s):
1."Total members that have visited the forum today" only shows before log-in. The bottom of the home page eliminates the list when my name shows in the online list.
2.Post date and time does not show in threads. A blank white bar shows between all posts, instead of a blue bar with white writing.
3.Loading between pages fails or often wrestles oddly with page switching.
4.Quick reply does not work. It quotes the post on which I hit the QR button.
5. Especially on home page, peculiar squares and spaces show up at various times upon entering the site or changing board pages (nice abstract art, but......) :(

Note: Avant would not run on my OS X. Slimbrowser and Maxthon are also not compatible.

Browsers: Firefox 1.5, Safari 1.3.1, Opera 8.5.1
Explanation of problems:
1. "Total members that have visited the forum today" disappears from bottom of home page after I log in. (same as IE above)

As of this evening, the horizontal scrolling problem browsers appears to be completely fixed. Testing all three currently shows no sideways sprawl!

A note for Opera[/] users; maybe only for Mac users also. Opera has a custom feature for adjusting window in the View drop-down. Choosing "Fit Window Width" resolved the sideways scroll problem, even when it was not resolved with other browsers.

Thanks Uncle Chadi! :girl_hug:

Operating System: Windows XP - home with SP2
Browser & Version: Internet Explorer
Monitor Resolution: 1152 X 864
Toolbars & Sidebars: Standard buttons, Adress , links, yahoo with anti spy
Firewalls: Windows firewall
AntiVirus Software: AVG 7.0
Also running: Spyware doctor, Adware SE professional, Adwatch SE professional.

Explanation of problem(s): When logged in as a guest, at the bottom of maoin page a person can see whom has been visiting the forums and whom is in livechat. As soon as I logg in with my username, those views disappear and all I can see is whom is the forums. I used to be able to see the main page with the views whom is in livechat and whom visited the forums whilst logged in.

My cookies gets deleted on a daily basis and Spyware doctor, Adware SE prof. and Adwatch is running in the background whilst online and they run and update daily together with AVG.

Sometimes my pop-up blockers interfere when I want to open private messages or flashchat, but that I can live with even though I have set it to allow pop-ups for this site.

What page (s) do you face this?: main page

You can adjust your popup blocker to allow popups from talkjesus.com

Also, live chat info is now added on right column of home page as it used to be.

I haven't...

I haven't read all of the above so I don't know if anyone has mentioned it yet. When I type out a Threat and or a post and I click on an Icon to add near the end, it ussually errase all I wrote and I have to do it again or just forget about it cause it took so long and I lost my train of thought. Now I just cut and paste the icons instead of clicking on them.
