I was just wondering, what is your opinion/scripture knowledge on Christians watching Fantasy things or playing Fantasy Games like Harry Potter and games like World of Warcraft or maybe not that "deep" how about playing games like Dungeons and Dragons (The real one with the game master, etc) with your friends or drawing elf like creatures and reading or watching things on fantasy like Cinderella.

Hello there!

I've loved the fantasy genre all my life, so I've read around 100 fantasy books, watched lots of fantasy movies and played many fantasy games.

The genre itself isn't bad. Only the content of a book, movie or game can be bad. So whenever you read a book, watch a movie or play a game, just be careful ... so that you can avoid the bad things, while still enjoying the awesome parts. Try to be aware of how you're affected by what you're seeing or reading.

Narnia is a good example of how the fantasy genre can be really, really great sometimes. (I've read all the seven books 5-7 times, hehe ...)

I don't read / watch the fantasy genre. I don't feel that it ties in with the positive aspects of scripture.

My children and I - and my oldest grandchild - feel that fantasy such as the Twilight Series, Harry Potter, Dungeons and Dragons etc. etc. are too closely related to Satan's realm and too far removed from what God stands for.

I have had a few (even one is too many) encounters with the realm of Satan and I do all I can to avoid having such contact. The only spiritual contact I aim to have is with my wonderful master God.

Many of the things you mention I would judge to be unprofitable for Christian folks.

Such are popular today because society thirsts for pleasure where-ever such can be found. Harry Potter is fantasy, and as such titillates the mind of society today.
